#Chapter 64 small steps

I could hear the occasional pained groan through the thin walls. I knew that his wounds would take a while to heal unlike any other wound that weren’t caused from shifter weapons. Those were made to make sure that shifters couldn’t heal fast enough and that they would be wounded like a human.

My body wanted to go to Dylan and make sure he was okay. I swore I felt the burn in my shoulder where my mark was. Did he ever feel my pain? Or was I imagining it because I could hear it? I rubbed the mark at my shoulder but still the pain didn’t fade.

I sat by the bed where my child laid. We still hadn’t chosen a name for him—I didn’t even think of choosing a name before we found him. All that was on my mind was getting to him. But now… now I needed to talk to Dylan when he felt better. I didn’t want to go another day without having his name set and done.
