Bab 37: FANFAN'S AFFAIR
CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN
WARNING :
Fanfan thought Feifei is a woman. She will refer to Feifei as a "she" or "her".
"Sister, why are you here?!" Fanfan exclaimed, sounding like she was wronged.
Feifei's face turned black.
Is Fanfan blaming him for having caught them training their vocal and combat skills near his home?
"I live here, Fanfan." Feifei answered with a stiff face.
"But why are you not at work?!" Fanfan raised his voice near hysterical.
Feifei : !!!!!!
"Do I need to report to you my activities?" Feifei sarcastically rebutted. "Look, whatever you do is your business. I won't interfere nor tell a single soul."
Feifei pulled his elbow back from Fanfan's grip and was about to go when he was stopped again by her.
"Sister, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to raise my voice. I..." Fanfan looked behind her to the man who was standing not far from them.
"Rong Jin, you go first." Fanfan said.
The man stared at Feifei in a daze then nodded to Fanfan.
Passing them, the man placed the back basket on Fanfan's feet.
Without a word and a second glance, the man disappeared towards the village.
Feifei was thunder struck!
The man's callous disregard for Fanfan's predicament is chilling!
He just left like that!
What kind of man did Fanfan find?! He has a bad feeling about this man.
Feifei studied Fanfan's face as Fanfan's gaze followed the man's shadow.
"Does he always treat you this well?" Feifei can't help but ask.
Fanfan looked at Feifei and nodded.
"Yes. He is always good to me." Fanfan smiled brightly at him.
Feifei : !!!!!
He was being ironic and derisive! He was not complimenting that man!
But obviously, this girl is blindly in love with that contemptuous man.
"Sister. Please keep this a secret between us, okay?" Fanfan held his hand in plea.
Feifei sighed.
"I don't know you enough to advise you but I hope you will take more care of yourself and trust your parents."
He looked straight at Fanfan and promised. "As long as they don't directly ask me, I won't say anything. If they ask me, I refuse to lie to your parents."
Her parents doesn't have any interaction with Feifei. So, its okay. Fanfan thought.
Fanfan smiled, relieved.
"Thank you, sister."
Feifei nodded and was about to leave again when Fanfan spoke.
"Why are you not at work? Are you not feeling well?"
"It's my day of rest."
"Oooh..." Fanfan bent down and picked the basket of pigweed. "You're all dressed up. Are you going to town?"
"Yes. I want to buy some seeds."
"Is it okay to tag along?" Fanfan looked at Feifei with a hopeful look. "I want to go to town too."
Feifei tilted his head and thought it wasn't an issue.
"Okay."
Fanfan jumped. "Let's go to the pigpen first, okay? We have a pigpen in our family but its quite a walk from here. Its at the outskirts on the other side of this mountain."
Thinking he was not in a hurry, he agreed.
"We have a lot of litters now that's why I come to this side to pick pigweeds. Those pigs really can grow!" Fanfan laughed.
Feifei just smiled.

Arriving at the pigpen, Feifei was both amazed by the powerful smell and the number of pigs!
They were a lot!
Cousin Shen's house is not enough to shelter all these pigs! There are more than hundreds of them!
No wonder Fanfan goes to the other side of the mountain to gather pig weeds!
"You sell them to town?" Feifei asked curiously.
"No. Different merchants from different towns come here every so often to buy them." Fanfan said as she took a huge pot and soaked the pig weeds.
Now seeing Fanfan dragging a sack, Feifei helped her carry it. "Is this pigfood? Are you going to cook them?"
"Its soybean and maize bran." Fanfan panted as she answered. "I only prepare them. Someone else does the feeding and the cleaning."
"It must be quite a challenge to manage..."
~Neigh~
Feifei forgot what he was about to say when he heard a ~neigh~.
