Bab 23: Monster
"I have a question"
Lee Hyori asked immediately as soon as everyone recovered from the performance.
"Can you write a song for me after the competition ends?"
"You can ask JYP-nim for that."
Everyone laughed at their interaction as they were all smiles.
"Jokes aside, I don't know what to say aside from the fact why the two of you haven't been debuted yet, the lyrics I resonate with it quite well, I don't know about the others here but I believe we've all been at that point sometime in life."
"I also agree with that, I actually like that song and I can relate with it."
Heechul nodded as his eyes started turning red for some reason.
"Oh is this a deduction of points? You made the nation's host cry."
Lee Seok-hoon joked to lighten up the mood as most of the industry knew of Heechul's accident and the judges and contestant knew why he reacted that way since they too could relate as their future was unknown, Yang Hyun-suk immediately decide to shift the mood
"Junho, I expected more from you, but I do have a burning question in my heart, JYP is a good lyricist but his latest was well out of my expectations can you confirm my suspicion?"
"I wrote 'Switch to Me'"
JYP laughed while the rest were now in awe even more as Switch to me was a huge success that topped the charts for months they didn't expect that Junho much less a trainee to write a song like that.
"The dance was on point I like how the two of you mirror each other including your clothes."
"Actually Jinyoung was the one who choreographed the song, without him I believe the song wouldn't be great without it."
Bae Yoon-jung nodded as she felt like they only needed a few polishes left but ultimately knew they only needed live performances under their belt and they would be ready. Yang Hyun-suk felt like they were ready to give out the grades but he wanted to see more out of Junho especially since he was the fabled 'Jun' of VTube.
"Before we give out the grades, can you sing for us Junho and Jinyoung? Both of you complimented each other so well but I want to hear your raw voices and your individuality."
Jinyoung and Junho nodded, Junho motioned to go first and Sang 10 reasons for I love you,as expected he did great and as soon as it was Junho's turn they again were shocked. Junho bowed as he finished his song once again.
"Hey"
"Yes?"
"I stand by my words earlier, write me a song once we're finished okay?"
"You have to go through me first Hyori, and yes before all of you ask he also wrote 3 'Fine', all right I think that concludes everything can everyone give their results already?"
The judges nodded and as expected after a while of tallying everyone's scores the top two spots was what everyone had expected.

Junho and Jinyoung moved in the dorm they were designated, they then met three of their current dormates, which were, Yook Sungjae, Hwang Minhyun and perhaps the most surprising to Junho was Jung Ho-Seok.
Everyone of them exchanged greetings, it turned out that Junho was the oldest one among them and that Sungjae was the youngest.
"So I guess I'm your Hyung?"
"If you aren't then who is?"
Jinyoung told Junho who nodded the rest didn't say anything as they were still getting to know each other.
"Actually, can you teach me how to sing like you Hyung?"
Sungjae asked Junho who was surprised to say the least at his request.
"Sure if we have free time but let's go to the living room and check out the house then we'll get to know each other."
The group nodded at Junho and unpacked their things, they had separate beds and closets, and as they went there they saw a pamphlet and a card that said open the television for an announcement, the group decided to unpack later and instead watch the television as they knew it was important.
"Hello it's me again! Congratulations on making it to Class S and being the current Top 5! As the five of you know this is a survival of the fittest program to herald the start of the third generation of artists, for now the five of you are staying here for at least two weeks after that it's gonna be a dog fight"
"As you already know there are weekly evaluations but there will be none this week as you all will focus on performing the program's opening song! As a reward for ranking as the top 5, the five of you will be the spotlight of the song and to the top 1 you will be automatically be the center!"
Everyone clapped at Junho as they were amazed, being the center was no joke in a popularity contest and they knew this was one, but despite that they believed that being in the top 5 was good already.
"With that said the remaining two weeks are for the five of you to practice hard if you want to keep your spot, your schedules are on the paper in front of you remember that this is the privilege's the five of you get to keep so don't let it go to waste!"
Junho took the stack of papers and gave it to everyone, they then read the contents of their schedule, for the first week it consisted of them practicing the choreography in the morning and singing the song in the afternoon, then after that they would be free to do what they want.
"Has everyone finished reading?"
Junho asked and the rest of the four nodded.
"Do you need something Hyung?"
"Actually I have a proposal."
Everyone listened in to Junho, as they were still acquaintances and Junho was ranked one they wanted to learn more.
"It says here our schedule starts at 9 AM in the morning and ends at 12:30 in the afternoon and after that we resume our practice at 2 PM to 6 PM in the evening, with loads of free time do you guys want to continue practicing and exchanging notes?"
"Sure! I think that's a great Idea, I actually think we should maximize the time we were given."
Jung Ho-Seok nodded and smiled as he agreed with the idea.
"Yeah I think that's a great Idea, even though I can sing my weakness is that I can't dance quite well for now."
"Come to think of it, if ever we're grouped together does anyone know how to rap? I've seen that everyone here either sings well or dances well."
The group of four then looked at Junho who flinched.
"I honestly have little to no idea but I'll do my best if it ever comes down to it but who knows what will happen."
"If you manage to pull it off you're really a monster Hyung"
