Chapter 33: Doing a favor for Diddy

Defiance moved to the front of the crowd to watch as Ethan came forward. She could see how nervous he looked. He was among the smallest boys in the arena, a little too small for his age which suited his little face and body.

She longed to reach out and comfort him. She wondered at her protective instinct about a boy she just met not long ago. Defiance turned to her right side when someone interlocked their hand to hers. It was Lucy Franklin.

"He will be fine"

"Well, he has to. He might be our ticket out of the first floor" Lucy whispered to her daughter.

Defiance didn't say anything, instead she focused on her brother.

"Ethan Franklin, step forward" Alpha Zero ordered.

Defiance watched as the Alpha smeared his blood on his palm and he turned to face the pack.
