Cayden POV
When I wake up, I must be in heaven. Or, whatever afterlife because there is too much white to be normal.
I’ve never believed in anything more than the Moon Goddess, so this is all a little unbelievable.
Looking around, I start to notice not everything is white. The ground is misty, as if made of clouds, and there is a brightness above me to suggest some sort of light source.
Another startling discovery, I’m as naked as the day I was born. A little harrowing, but no one is around to poke at my modesty.
There really isn’t anything for me to do except move forward.
A sound behind me has me on the defensive.
A wolf sits staring at me, exuding a calm demeanor and serenity, not unlike this space. Yet, I’d know those eyes anywhere.
After twenty-odd years of staring at myself in the mirror, I could point my eyes out of a crowd.
I’m staring at my wolf.
