Bab 42: Chapter 42: Questions

I’m not going to have any fingernails left by the time this is all over. But it’s not only my anxiety through the roof, it’s everyones.

Doctor Hawks is nearly finished among all the Richards staff, and so far, only a quarter of them are showing signs like what Cayden has experienced.

Since we got here, I’ve been looking for a connection. But nothing makes sense. How could so few of the staff show symptoms while the rest were as healthy as always?

Even myself. The feelings went nearly as quick as they came, but Cayden was wolfless and apparently experiencing symptoms for a while.

I wish Craig was here. He was always good at puzzles.

Maverick has been pacing back and forth but hasn’t said a word. I’m sure I will get an earful later, but for now, the only sounds are Doctor Hawks mutterings to her patients and whispers among the staff unaffected.

“Have you heard from Noelle?”

I turn to find Maverick biting his thumb. I've never seen him so out of sorts.
