Angela POV

I’ve looked everywhere.

Beta Cayden is nowhere to be found.

I’m leaving the healing center resigned to the fact that I’m going to have to tell Maverick.

Doctor Hawks verified Cayden was there earlier, but she sent him home with doctor’s orders to rest.

Except I’d been to his house several times in case I missed him and he wasn’t there.

Shit.

When he didn’t show up to the office this morning, I should have gone out right away.

I got complacent to the fact he’s always late.

Goddess, Maverick is going to kill me.

There is nothing more to do than head to his office and get this over with.

I shift, but even shifted, I can’t pick Cayden up.

It’s like he disappeared off the face of the planet.

I bound toward the mansion, using my senses to hopefully pick out his scent on my way.
