Bab 29: Chapter 29: A Big Question

Takeshi leaned back in the desk chair, watching the clock tick time away on the wall. The trip back to his homeland was riddled with feelings of worry and anger and betrayal, but he thought it better to process it on the way so as to have a clear head when it was time to confront the mole in their midst. As much as the assassin hated to admit it, facts were still facts and feelings weren’t able to change that. The ringing of his phone broke his concentration. He smiled ever so slightly seeing “Little Rose” pop up on his screen.

“Talk to me, beautiful.” He answered.

“You sound like Hell in a handbasket.” Mary chuckled from the other end.

“I, uh…I came to a realization and I’m not fucking happy about it.” Takeshi confessed with a heavy sigh.

“About our mole?”

“Yeah.” He said. “I think…I think it might be my brother.”

“Your brother?” Mary echoed. “You mean, Kenta? Why would he betray us like that? Why would he betray you like that?”
