Bab 25: Royal Graveyard
Cedrick was currently strolling around Lubana. There were a lot of buildings around the city. There were casino, aside from gambling money, people could gamble even their equipments. How many idiots would do such things when the highest one can get is only a rare equipment?
There were also bars and with his sharp eyesight, he found a building which was placed in secret, the brothels.
He also caught sight of the prostitutes who wore revealing clothes and look seductive, but Cedrick didn't care. He slowly made his way to the Center of Lubana Kingdom, The Royal Palace.
On his way he noticed many guards patrolling around the palace. Not wanting to attract any unnecessary attention, Cedrick entered stealth.
Even Cedrick can deal with them, he doesn't want to be delayed any further. Cedrick took out Aghanims from the inventory and throw inside the wall. Seing that the dagger was inside, he teleported and didn't waste a second as he transformed into a shadow.
Cedrick was amazed for a while as this was his first time infiltrating a castle. The decorations were luxurious unlike from Kunlon which shows simple extravagance.
Cedrick passed through easily the obstacles and arrived at the back of the palace.
He occasionally passed through a couple of maids, butlers, knights and even the royal princess. Cedrick didn't care about them as he continued to find his purpose here.
While using shadow in stealth, Cedrick easily passed through all obstacles without anyone alerting. He exited the palace and arrived at the back of the royal palace. Due to the massive size of the palace, even with Cedrick's agility, it took him almost an hour to arrive in his destination.
He examined the surrounding and confirms that no one is nearby. The place was deathly silent as no one was around. Not even the knights whose patroling as they thought robbers won't gain a single thing in here. One could see numerous luxurios tombstones around. This place was the Lubana Kingdom's Royal Graveyard.
This graveyard were only the kings of Lubana were buried after their death. Cedrick examined each tombstone and look for a specific name. While searching for at the 7th tombstone he grumbled.
"This feels like I'm a grave digger or something. Well not like it's not going to happen."
After searching diligently he found it.
"Found it!"
He was happy as he opened the tomb and found no body in it. Cedrick wasn't surprised about it as he knows what happened if the reason is the same as the novel. In the first place the corpse isn't his purpose, it was the item that inside the tomb. An old sheath. It was an ego item with part of the ego of the Undefeated King.
Ego item is an item that awakened an ego or soul. Seing it, Cedrick was happy as he can feel his heart beating rapidly but soon calmed down.

Madra, a man, and king who had never been defeated. He was called the Legendary Undefeated King
Undefeated King Madra. A relatively unknown person compared to other legends because he was only active in Lubana during his lifetime.
Madra was the 9th king of Lubana Kingdom, which he successfully defended till his death as a strategist and mastered martial arts. He was the sole king among the Legends of his generation which the same generation as Pagma, and throughout his reign, the Lubana Kingdom was unstoppable.
Before he was a brilliant strategist, Madra was the ultimate warrior. Madra had the unique ability of 'perfect' status resistance among all the legends. He was the best in a stage where pure combat was prioritized for a one-on-one match without variables or shallow tricks who has never experienced defeat once.
Madra was betrayed and murdered by his son. But even without it, he would not have lived much longer. Since his feats were only discussed by his people and not by the whole Lugarix, his status as a legend was limited, unlike other Legends whose active throughout the entire Lugarix.
After confirming he got the correct item, as Cedrick can't wait to see the result of his effort he inspected it.

Forcibly calmed down by from overwhelming excitement, Cedrick let out a deep breathe. As he remembered where he was right now, he closed the tomb like make the graveyard like nothing has happened.
Making sure that no trouble to come look for him, he teleported back to the inn. After arriving, Cedrick lied to the bed as he released all his activated skills as he relaxed and lifted the sheath.
"I finally got this."
He smiled as he said that. Hearing Cedrick's remark, Madra's ego replied.

Cedrick wasn't surprised as he had known about this item even the novel didn't specify it. Cedrick just casually replied.
"Of course, how can I not be glad on the possibility on acquiring the Undefeated King's Swordsmanship."
Cedrick grinned as he said that but Madra's ego didn't missed that.
(It seems like you knew about my swordmanship. Seems your interested and also your undefeated, I'll give you a quest to become my successor.)
Suddenly a notification appeared in front of Cedrick.

Seing the quest that was offered to him, Cedrick smiled and didn't hesitate.

Hearing Cedrick's unexpected reply, Madra was silent and unable to respond to him. After a while he spoke.
(Why? More importantly, you didn't even hesitate. Can you tell me your reason.)
Hearing him, Cedrick replied honestly but due to his poor communication skill, his reply shocked Madra.
"I don't need to be your successor."
Madra didn't reply as he was silence as he was curious why. He had thought it was because of his pride of being undefeated.
"You see, I don't need to become your successor to become stronger. The reason is..."
Cedrick paused for a while and continued.
"I am a dragon."
Madra was surprised after hearing that. Now it made sense to him as he knew how powerful dragons are. He felt stupid for asking a dragon to become his successor. It was absolute existence that is way stronger than his prime but he did not fear them.
During he was alive, he had admired the dragons due to their power and hoping to fight a dragon but that day never came. As he was in his thoughts, Cedrick next words and action snapped him from his daze.
"More importantly, I don't need to complete your quest to access your power."
"Saphira, scan Madra's Ego just like Pagma's Rare Book and transfer the data to me."
Madra was surprised hearing the name of a famous Legend during his generation but was even more surprised as he felt his very being despite being only an ego was being watched by someone.

Madra was even more surprised in hearing that. 'He hasn't been in Lugarix for a week yet he doesn't seem to be a hatchling.' He knew some information about the dragons that they sleep for 1,000 years to become an absolute yet Cedrick is not doing it. As he was in deep thought Cedrick continued.
"Don't worry, even I didn't become your successor. I have someone in mind to be."
Madra became silent as he heard that but Cedrick ignored him. He was eager to see the effects of the skills he got.
