Bab 31: Teaming up with an enemy
"I've noticed you've been avoiding me all these while. Have I done anything to wrong you?" She asked.
I could see sincerity in her eyes and this made me to wonder if I've judged her wrongly. She's such a sweet person.
"I'm not" I denied.
"C'mon Jessy. We both know that that's a lie. It's not a crime to get wronged by me but if you don't tell me how then will I know how to apologize" she said.
I didn't know if I tell her what she did, she would try to hurt me but ten wasn't I already hurt by that wicked man.
"I'm sorry " I said not knowing where to start from.
She will definitely think me to be a fool for siding with my enemy.
"No apologies Jessy" she said with a smile.
I nodded and decided to tell her damning the consequences. Infact, if she really hate Bounce, she can help me escape.
"I just thought you were betraying your own?" I finally said.
" I don't understand" she said with a bewildered look.
" I saw you talking secretly to a maid about putting something into one's room. I just don't like people who betray their own" I said looking down at my hands like a shy girl.
"Oh" that was all Bella said.
I looked at her and she was calm and this confused me the more. If it was someone else, they would have feel agitated learning that someone found out their secrets. But looking at Bella, she didn't even feel anything. She just looked at me with her calm eyes.
"Is it that she's already an expert in these things" I asked myself.
" If I tell you what I'm up to, you won't tell anyone right?" She asked me.
I nodded slowly.
" Fine I'll tell you but you have to keep your promise" she said looking into my eyes.
" Don't worry I will. I don't like your Alpha" I said blankly.
She then smiled at my words. I was expecting to hear a plan she has against the Alpha or anyone in the pack but she told me about her secret investigation. She said that any lady Bounce lay with always have this calamity that will suddenly happen to them. If they do not die all of a sudden, they would loose part of their body. She then told me she's been investigating who the one who is doing this. She said she has hunches on who it could be but she doesn't want to accuse the wrong person.
I couldn't doubt her words because I could see that she was saying the truth.
"What is Bounce doing about it?" I asked.
I saw the way she looked at me when I didn't say your Alpha but said Bounce but she didn't say anything about it.
"Well he doesn't think anyone is involve. He thinks it's his curse" she replied.
" His curse?" I asked so confused.
"Yes. I don't know why he believes such thing but he thinks he's curse not to have a woman beside him".
" If that's true. Why then is that Zin of a lady not dead or disabled?" I asked.
As she was telling me the story, that was what was going through my mind. I heard he's been sleeping with her for a while now and yet she's still alive hale and hearty.
"That's what I thought too but he said that she was favored. He said she got sick and almost died years back. So he thinks it was luck that smiled on her" she replied.
" What a lame thing to think" I said to myself.
" Shouldn't you be scared that youight die or disabled with what you just heard?" Storm said to me.
I know I'm supposed to feel that but I didn't. I think it all thing made up by him not wanting to accuse that lady of his.
"So you don't believe him?" I asked Bella.
" Yes I don't. I think it's the hand work of a jealous person who wants to have the Alpha all to herself" she replied.
" That's it and that Zin is a big suspect" I added in agreement.
" Yes she is but I don't want to make mistake. The Alpha wi be so angry ate because he already told me to stay out of this whole matter that it's his fault" .
" If he truely believe it his fault, he shouldn't be laying with any female" I said with a frown.
" Yes he isn't. The only female he allows is Zin. Not that I don't like the way he's with her but what I'm angry at is that many females were affected. The one who killed them shouldn't go scot-free" she said.
" How can I help you?" I asked her.
I knew I shouldn't butt in but if the one doing this get to know that I had something with the Alpha, she'll definitely come after me. So I'm doing this for my own life.
Bella seems surprised that I want to help her and she gave me the look.
"Are you serious?" She asked.
I nodded.
"Why?"
" I seem to have laid with your Alpha and if this so called woman gets to know, I'm her next target" I said sheepishly.
" You slept with the Alpha?" She asked widening her eyes.
" Yes and he almost killed me in process" I said in anger as I remembered what he did to me.
"At least you accomplished your mission" she smiled.
" And I regret ever having that mission".
" Is it that bad?" She asked.
I then narrated everything to her and she wouldn't stop laughing.
"It's not funny Bella" I snapped.
I don't like how she's laughing at my pain.
"I'm sorry but you should have know that our Alpha is wild" she said.
" I didn't " I said blankly.
"Then you will be of good help to me" she said and I nodded.
