Jace was still closing his eyes, asleep and busy wandering into his dreams when suddenly someone threw a piece of clothing right in his face causing him to scream softly. His narrowed eyes opened instantly, seeing the presence of one of his cousins who was already standing in front of the bed wearing a neat suit, like a young businessman.
"Shit." Blinking his eyes, Jace cursed softly. "What did you come here for, Jeff?"
His cousin Jeff, the younger brother of Joseph Bryant, sighed in exasperation. "Did you forget that you have a scheduled visit to replace your father for a while?"
"It's Saturday. I need a lot of time to rest apart from any work."
"I don't give a shit. You have to get up quickly and go to the office. Or I report to your father and he will block your ATM."
"Damn."
All kinds of angry slurs escaped Jace's mouth as he rushed to put his clothes on and into the bathroom. The sound of the door slamming violently managed to wake Tamara up who was still asleep. The girl rubbed her eyes a few times and tilted her head to one side at the sight of Jeff who hadn't budged where he had been.
"Jeff, how did you get here?" she asked confused.
"Just want to train the naughty kid to be more mature and disciplined." He smiled a sweet smile, which could melt the heart of any woman, including Tamara. If she wasn't in a relationship with Jace, Tamara would want to be Jeff's girlfriend. Jeff is no less handsome, rich, all the pluses and a complete package that women want is in him.
Well, you could say that the Bryant family has their respective strengths. Joseph, Jeff, Jace, Jaxen, and Jordan, each had their share of the company from their late grandfather. And it was these five men who devised a revenge plan against the Cavern family for the death of their grandfather.
A few minutes later, Jace emerged from the bathroom, still with his piercing gaze fixed on Jeff; his cousin was busy teasing Tamara to make the girl blush. There wasn't a hint of jealousy or anger in Jace. He just rolled his eyes, flicking the jacket off the chair before putting it on.
"I don't think you're going to come dressed like that," Jeff insisted, pointing scornfully at Jace's suit. "You can go home first. I'll make sure you don't run away like usual. I'll keep an eye on you until we get to the office."
Jace replied to Jeff's words with an annoyed snort. "Whatever." It was only then that he stomped out of the room, walking in a huff, ignoring Jeff's wide grin that made him sick and irritated. Among his cousins, Jace felt that his grandfather's love was focused solely on Jeff. For his grandfather, Jeff was one of the proud grandchildren who at a young age had managed the company with his older brother, Joseph. However, Jace never showed his social hatred and jealousy towards his grandfather. After all, he loved his grandfather, remembering whatever his grandfather had given him since childhood. Starting from love, moral support, and material. The only reason why he obeyed Joseph's orders was that his grandfather was very precious to him. He would do anything for his late grandfather.
