15th August 1990, London
I gave a frosty glare to the puppet before me and spoke with a calm voice. "So, if I got it right. You don't even have a thousand galleons, because you let yourself be manipulated by Malfoy so that he stole most of your family business and you basically became his vassal. Then you had that great idea to try to gamble with the Goblins and lose almost all of your family treasury. In your library aren't any rare magic books, other than one on Occlumency and one on blood magic, as you decided to offer all of your family's old and rare books to the Dark Lord in hopes to please him."
"Yes." He replied blankly.
Sigh. That's just my luck. I can give up on plan A, as devising and realizing schemes on how to get Avery's family fortune because it won't pay off to be enough for the troubles I would have to go through. Well then, let's move to plan B: Get everything I want, have a snack, and leave. Fortunately, Avery still had a few things that could be of better use in my possession. He won't need them after tonight after all. And I also learned about the being to which belong that small green soul that I saw when I was scouting the manor with my Soul Sight. I will go look at it later after I end the things here.
"Call your house-elf here and have him bring the things I want. Oh and give him an order to not attack or affect me in any way." Better be careful. I don't think that a normal house-elf would dare to attack a wizard or a witch, but he could try to apparate me to get me away from his master.
"Budley! Come here!" Shouted Avery and immediately an old house-elf clothed in rags appeared with a *Pop*. I really don't get why the purebloods make their elves wear only old dirty rags. Only the thought, that my meals are prepared by someone who hasn't changed their clothes is repulsive. Servants also represent their masters, so they are only staining their reputation with these practices.
"Master Avery. What are your orders for Budley?" Spoke to the elf with a raspy voice. A cruel look flashed in his beady eyes after he noticed my presence. "Is she one of the master's 'toys' for the night? Does master wants Budley to bring the chains?"
At first, I wanted to spare that elf, but that little imp changed my answer fast. I don't need to be nice then. It was naive from me to think that every house-elf is an innocent creature. The environment in which one lives matters after all.
I canceled the orders that I gave to Avery as they would be useless now and cast another Imperio. This time on the elf. After I felt that the curse was successfully cast, I ordered him to bring me certain items. After a minute, the elf puppet returned and brought with him four books, a trunk, a knife, and several wands.
I first looked at the books. They were books on Occlumency, Blood Magic, and Apparition. Although I have been building up my mental defense for a long time by channeling my magic into my mind and building my mind palace, I wanted to have more knowledge about the Mind Arts as I think that this art has a greater potential than just simple defense of the mind. And I really don't want to have someone digging into my mind as in this world that I am in, there are people who have the means to do that. For example a certain Hogwarts Headmaster, insane Dark Lord, and forthcoming Scarlett Witch.
The book on Blood Magic was the only rare book that Avery didn't give to Voldemort as it was in the Avery family since its creation but the book sure doesn't look like it, must be thanks to the Preservation Charms on it. I give the book a quick skim through and found quite a lot of interesting curses. Blood Acid Curse, Reverse Bood Flow Curse, Blood Vessels Rupturing Curse. The book is filled with a lot of really nasty curses. Well, that's a problem for a person at the point of my wand, not me.
The last book talked about the theory of apparition and how to learn it. From now on I won't have to walk up the stairs ever again. This spell has however some limitations like the possibility of splinching myself with a long-range apparition. Then there were the anti-apparition wards. This spell was more of means of travel than anything.
I put the books into my new trunk. It was an expensive-looking black leather trunk that was enchanted with Shrinking and Lightweight Charms. I just have to tap the trunk three times with a wand and it shrinks into a pocket-size and vice-versa. The enchantments also reduced the weight of things put inside by a hundred times and the trunk itself was also very light. Truly a perfect tool for trafficking.
I then took in my hand the knife. It was a silver atheme knife that was used for ritual magic by the Avery family in the past. I could feel the slight aura of death that radiated from the knife's silver blade. It was pretty much a Dark Artifact. From what the puppet told me, this knife wasn't used for a long time as ritualistic magic was in most magical countries branded as one of the darkest types of magic. In some countries, it was outright branded as black magic. It was a very beautiful knife and it will maybe come into proper use in the future. Well, it can be used as a weapon as the wounds inflicted by it are cursed and difficult to heal. I put the knife into the trunk as well.
Now only the wands are left. They are old wands of members of the Avery family that were still usable. I hope that there would ve some wand that would be compatible with me. I could use it until I get my wand and it will not hurt to have a reserve wand after that.
I released my magic and let it wash over the wands and I could feel some resonance with one of the wands and I took it into my hand. It was a short and slightly curved wand made from light brown wood. I channeled my magic through it. It was not perfect but I felt the wand not blocking me and almost happily taking in my magic.
"What can you tell me about this wand?" I asked.
"That's the wand of my deceased mother. Chestnut with dragon heartstring. Ten inches and hard flexibility." Replied Avery.
Hmm, I don't know the meaning of wand woods and cores. Maybe I could go to the Diagon Alley to 'borrow' a book about wands.
"Another thing. Give me all the money you currently have on you. "
Avery walked to the table next to the bed and from its drawer took out a dark green pouch. He give me the pouch and I weighed it in my hand. It felt quite heavy.
"There should be around forty Galleons and some Sickles in it." Said the puppet.
Hmm, this will do for pocket money. I can always 'borrow' more with my concealment abilities. I could also try to rob Gringotts after I learn more about goblins and wards. Now I have a possible plan for the summer break after my first year at Hogwarts.
Well, now it's time to end this and get some snacks. 'Agony, they are all yours now.'
{Finally, you were taking your time.}
A dark purple goo quickly covered my body and took control over it. Though I can always take the control back, I don't want to limit my only friend. And I can't always keep her locked in my body as she needs to let loose sometimes.
I could see in a big mirror in the room as I changed into a small slim dark purple and dark pink colored figure with long purple hair, sharp claws, and a scary predatory face. Cool but my only problem is that I look almost naked, but I am slowly getting used to it. It helps that everyone that has seen me like this is dead.
Agony slowly walked to Avery and grabbed him by his neck. She then roughly pulled him down and bit his head off with her large maw filled with long sharp teeth. Agony then threw the headless body away. The blood sprayed everywhere and painted the bedroom's floor red.
"This one was the tastiest brain I had yet. We should hunt more of these wizards." Said Agony and then looked at the elf that was visibly trembling in fright despite him still being l under Imperius. "This one doesn't look tasty at all. It looks weird, dirty and it smells." She grumbled and spat a ball of green acid from her mouth at the elf's face.
The house-elf didn't even have the time to scream as his head quickly melted away. The acid didn't stop here and melted a hole through the floor to who knows where.
Agony is slowly becoming stronger and stronger thanks to the ever-growing amount of magic and demonic energy in my body. So even her acid is scarily strong right now. Up till now we haven't found anything that could resist the acid. Maybe only things like vibranium, uru metal, and magical artifacts could defend against it. We will have to try in the future.
Agony seeped back into my body and I crouched next to Avery's dead body. I wrapped my hand with demonic energy and grabbed his soul before it could disintegrate and join the Stream of Reincarnation. I looked at the dark grey shining soul and popped it into my mouth like candy.
Hmm, it even tastes like candy. A sweet melon-flavored one. I could feel the soul traveling into my Demon Seed, slightly strengthening it and making my demonic energy reserves bigger. Agony is right. maybe we should hunt more wizards.
I then walked to what was left of the elf's body and ate his soul too. My face immediately scrunched after that. That has to be the sourest thing I ever ate.
Now, there is only one last thing remaining here for me to do. I walked back to the ground floor and walked into a certain room. The room was used by Avery as a storeroom for his collection. A collection of stuffed magical creatures. I could recognize a Grindylow, Niffler, Troll, Hippogriff, and many more. There was even a stuffed centaur. Avery had a really vile hobby.
I walked to the glass box in which was the only living being in the room. It was a Bowtruckle, a hand-sized, insect-eating, tree-dwelling magical beast, with long sharp fingers, brown eyes, and an appearance of a flat-faced stick figure made of bark and twigs and leaves on its head. A Bowtruckle served as a tree guardian for its home tree, which was usually a tree whit wand quality wood. It was generally a peaceful creature, but it could attempt to gouge out an attacker's eyes if anything threatened its tree or itself.
Looking at the Bowtruckle's soul, I figured that it was male.
But this unfortunate one looked almost whithered with the leaves on his head also being brown and hanging down. I didn't even need to use my Spirit Vision to know that he was dying.
I broke the glass and reached my left hand to him. He looked at me and climbed on my hand and looked at me with his small clear brown eyes.
Cute.
{How is that thing cute? It's just a moving twig.}
'Then you don't know what's cute.' I replied to Agony with a disappointing tone.
{Grrr.}
I have to do something or he will die. But I don't know any healing magic and I don't know if directly channeling my magic to him will be helpful or if it would only worsen the situation. There is only one thing I can do.
"Do you want to be my Familiar?" I asked him.
He looked straight into my eyes and nodded.
"Okay then." A smile formed on my face. I bit into my right thumb and waited until a drop of my blood formed on it. I then channeled my demonic energy into the drop of blood until it started shining with a dark red light. I brought my thumb with the shining drop of blood before him and asked with seriousness in my voice.
"If you are willing to be forever bound to me as my Demon Familiar, then drink."
The Bowtruckle reached with his arms for my thumb brought it closer to his face and drank the drop of blood.
The changes were instant. From his almost withered self, he was once again filled with vitality. His leaves turned lush again but they didn't return to their natural green color. They turned red as were my hair. It was a mark that he was my Familiar. He looked at me, waiting for his name.
"From now you should be my Familiar and my friend. Your name shall be Woody."

Woody looks just like Pickett, Newt Scamander's Bowtruckle, but he has red leaves on his head instead of green ones.
