"Your mother and I proceeded with her plan… I resigned from the firm after giving a two week notice, as stated in my contract, and after that I disappeared completely, while your mother kept on working at the firm.
After a few weeks, your mother betrayed her country, she sold the information that they so desperately needed to the British, and after that she ran away and disappeared, and we ran away together… we got married, and two years later… we have you my Tasha, my little gift.
Your mother always knew that her time was limited, that it would only be a matter of time before she would be killed for her betrayal, and she told me that from the start, and I agreed that I would be with her… I never regret meeting you mother… because she was the love of my life, and she still is.
My Tasha, I hope you can forgive me for not telling you all this sooner… but it was for your own safety… the less you knew the better… they were after me and your mother… and not you, my dear.
I knew that I only had limited time left… and I was right if you are reading this letter… please forgive me my Tasha… everything I did, was because of you.
Love Your Father Larry" read the letter as it came to its end.
"This is…this is…" said Natasha out loud as she could not believe what she had just read… this was unbelievable.
"This is crazy…" said Natasha as she finally managed to find the word that fitted this whole situation well.
To Natasha, this felt like it was straight from some sort of movie script…. Yes sure, she knew that she was part Russian… her second language was even Russian, but the spies, the betrayal, if it was not in her own father's handwriting, she would have not believed it.
Of course she was not angry from her father, far from it, he had said it right there that he had done so for her, and it was understandable, she was only upset that she did not know this earlier.
"Dad… what happened??" asked Natasha to herself as she sighed and she shook her head… this was just too much…. But the number one question on her mind was how come she had also not known this in her past life??? She had never once heard this story, or known about this, this was all just too much, from one problem to the next.
"I don't understand…" said Natasha to herself as she sighed and she looked at the letter once more, she just could not understand, why was all of this happening?? It had never happened before? Did she change something for this to happen??
First her father had died, and now she had learnt that her mother was a Russian spy?? She felt like she had done something to alter how things in this life of hers were going?? She just could not understand.
"*Knock*, *Knock*, "*Knock*" came the sound of knocking from the door of Natasha's room, but Natasha was too deep in thought to hear that someone was knocking on the door of her room.
"Natasha we need to talk" said Dom as he heard no reply, but he knew that Natasha was in her room, Alfred had told him so, so he just opened the door and walked in.
"Natasha…" called Dom as he noticed that she was very deep in thought.
"What are you doing here?" asked Natasha as she snapped out of her thoughts and she narrowed her eyes at Dom as she held him call her name, she put the letter back in the box as she looked at him coldly, just who gave him permission to enter her room anytime that he wanted??
"We need to talk" said Dom.
"Just get out!" said Natasha as she snapped at him, she really was not in the mood right now, in fact she was just tired, just so tired, and she did not need Dom adding to her list of many problems.
"Natasha, stop being childish, we are adults and we need to talk" said Dom as he was here to apologize for her being wrongly accused, but here she was pushing him away.
"I don't care, I don't want to talk to you, so get out" said Natasha as she knew why he was here, he probably wanted to talk about what happened at Grandfather's birthday party, and quite frankly, she did not want to relive that moment again, she just wanted to be alone.
"Are you chasing me out of my own house?" asked Dom as he scoffed, why did he think that they could have a normal conversation like adults?
"I don't want to see you, I don't want to hear from you, so just get out, you bring me nothing but pain and humiliation, and I have had quite enough of that, so just get out, leave me alone, I don't want you near me, I don't want you close to me, I don't want to even hear your voice, so just leave me alone" said Natasha as she exploded.
Every single time she was with Dom no good happened, it was like as long as she was with him, she would continue to suffer in pain and agony and she was not going to pass through that again… she had had enough, enough of him, enough of everything.
He could not have chosen a worse time to come and see her, she was dealing with knowing that her father's death was not natural, her family was being hunted by the Russian government, so she did not need him adding his own plate of problems to hers.
"Fine…" said Dom as he had never seen Natasha burst out at him like that… she really seemed hurt and in pain.
"If that is what you want… I will leave you alone" said Dom as he turned around and he walked away as he closed the door behind him, he scolded himself for coming here.
"*Sigh*" said Natasha as she sighed and she covered her face with her hands, this was all just too much for her to handle, there were just so many unanswered questions that she had, her father had not said much, maybe out of safety reasons for whoever wanted to get him.
Natasha quickly rummaged through the box, she could not find anything else there that would explain more.
Natasha sighed, she had to get to the bottom of this… and she could not deal with Dom right now… she truly meant what she had said, she did not want to see him at all, in fact she preferred it if he disappeared, if only that was possible.
…
"Hello" said Michael as he answered his phone.
"Hello Michael, how far?" asked Dom as he sighed and he closed a folder, he was back at the office, he needed to distract himself with work.
"Nothing so far Dom…" said Michael as he sighed as he sat in front of a computer monitor.
"The footage is completely gone… there is no way for me to retrieve the footage" said Michael as he looked annoyed, he had been here all morning trying to recover the deleted footage, he had tried all he knew about cameras and their storage settings but all to no avail.
"That only means one thing" said Dom.
"This was planned, and very well for that matter… whoever did this has a good knowledge of security cameras and how they work" said Michael as he stood up.
"The question is who?" asked Dom as that was the big question on his mind, who would hate Natasha so much to resort to framing her?
"I think we should ask Lia to help, she is an expert in these things" said Michael.
"I know, and I have thought about it, but no, I am sure she is very busy with her own work" said Dom, he did not want to trouble Lia at all.
"I get that… but we are getting nowhere with the security footage" said Michael.
"So what do you suggest that we do?" asked Dom.
"Well I will need to interrogate the security guards that were on duty that night, and also I will try to see if there is some footage from any of the other security cameras, if someone came here to erase the footage manually, then the security camera on floor B would have caught sight of the person" said Michael.
"Alright then" said Dom.
"Yes" said Michael.
"And how is Natasha?" asked Michael.
"Well I went to see her earlier, and well she chased me away… she says that she wants nothing to do with me at all" said Dom as he sighed.
"Just give her space Dom… give her space… she has been through a lot" said Michael as he sighed.
"I know… and I will" said Dom as he sighed, if she did not want him around her, then he would not be around her.
"Thank you Michael" said Dom as he smiled, Michael always had the best advice.
"No Problem" said Michael as he sighed.
"Anyway, let me get back to what I am doing, before the security guards switch shifts" said Michael as he closed his laptop.
"Alright then, see you at home" said Dom.
"See you" said Michael as he smiled and he ended the call.
