Bab 122: The entire book
"Hello Good Morning, I am here to see Commander Peter Lawson" said Natasha as she smiled as she was at the police station and she was talking to the woman at the front desk.
"Oh Good Morning Madam, you can go right in" said the woman with a smile.
"Alright, thank you" said Natasha as she smiled and she walked away, she wondered if the woman was in a good mood today, yesterday, she was very rude to her, and well today she was very nice and polite, Natasha just shrugged it off as she just went her way.
"Was that her??" came the voice of another Police officer as he came to talk to the woman at the front desk.
"Yes, the Commander's girlfriend is here again" said the woman at front desk as she smiled.
"I never knew that Commander had a girlfriend, he had been hiding her from us for such a long time" said the Police officer as he laughed and he shook his head.
"And she is very pretty too" said the woman at the front desk.
Almost everyone in the station knew about Pete and Natasha's relationship, they had also seen them hugging yesterday, which confirmed their suspicions of this woman being the secret girlfriend of their commander.
"I find it funny that it took her almost being killed for Commander to finally bring his girlfriend out of hiding" said the Police officer as he laughed.
"Hush before somebody hears you, and get back to work" said the woman at the front desk.
"Yeah, yeah, the same to you" said the Police officer as he rolled his eyes and he walked away.
…
"Come in" came Pete's voice as he heard a knock on his office door.
"Hello and Good Morning to my favourite Police officer in the whole wide world" said Natasha as she entered Pete's office with a smile.
"Hello to you too woman I have never met" said Pete as he looked up from his desk and the serious look on his face disappeared as he smiled at Natasha.
"Oh hush, before I beat you up" said Natasha as she laughed and she sat down across him as he sat down at his desk.
"Right…" said Pete as he laughed, it was obvious who would win In a fight, and it certainly was not Natasha.
"Haha, alright, alright, I brought you something" said Natasha as she smiled and she placed the plastic coffee cup with a lid on it on Pete's desk.
"What is this??" asked Pete as he picked up the cup.
"Coffee" said Natasha as she smiled and Pete took a sip of it.
"Mhmm, that tastes good" said Pete as he liked the coffee was sweet, but not too sweet.
"I am glad you think so, because I made it for you" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Ha!" said Pete as he laughed.
"You… make coffee?? For me, I don't believe it Nat" said Pete as he laughed.
"Even if you did, I doubt it would taste edible" said Pete as he laughed.
"I find that offensive" said Natasha as she laughed.
"But alright, you got me, I didn't make the coffee" said Natasha as she laughed.
"Haha what a big surprise" said Pete as he took a sip of the coffee once more.
"One of the friends Chloe, the one who manages the farm I bought, well she told me she used to work in a coffee shop, and that she was very good at making coffees, and so I decided to give you to judge her skills, since you are a coffeeholic" said Natasha as she laughed.
"Well tell your friend that I need her number, so she can personally make my coffees from now on" said Pete as he laughed.
"No way, she is not your personal coffee maker Pete" said Natasha as she laughed.
"Oh you know I was just joking" said Pete as he laughed.
"But on a serious note, please tell her that she really knows how to make coffee" said Pete as he smiled.
"I will" said Natasha as she smiled.
"So how did your date with Lia go??" asked Natasha as she smiled.
"Well it was alright… not too good, or not too bad" said Pete s he sighed.
"Alright, but why did you sigh??? What happened, was it bad??" sked Natasha.
"Well she arrived 30 minutes late due to traffic, and when she finally arrived at the café we chose to meet in, she did not stay even 5 minutes, because one of her clients called her, and I received a call from the station as well, so we did not have a date at all" said Pete as he explained.
"Ooof, you both chose the worst time to meet" said Natasha as she laughed, she found this all funny.
"So… tell me, what did you think of Lia?" asked Natasha as she winked at Pete.
"*Sigh*, Well what can I say?" asked Pete as he sighed.
"She is a very pretty woman" said Pete as he smiled.
"Hehe, I told you so, Lia is very pretty, she has always been like that" said Natasha.
"Well of course a beautiful woman like you would have a beautiful friend as well" said Pete as he smiled.
"I take that as a compliment" said Natasha as she smiled at him.
"Mhmm" said Pete as he sipped his coffee again.
"So are you guys going to have a makeup date?" asked Natasha.
"Well I don't know, we haven't spoken about that yet" said Pete as he put down his coffee on his desk and he looked through some papers.
"Well you guys better, and be quick, I want a wedding invitation" said Natasha as she laughed.
"Hey, hey slow down Nat, you are way too fast, we are not on that page yet" said Pete as he shook his head.
"No, No, yes, that is because I have already finished the entire book" said Natasha as she laughed.
"Sometimes I wonder" said Pete as he sighed and he shook his head.
"Then stop wondering" said Natasha as she laughed and Pete looked at her with an expression that read "You are not funny at all".
"Here you go" said Pete as he handed her three files.
"What are these for?" asked Natasha as she looked at him.
"It turns out that the information on the three men you shot who were in the hospital was already in our database" said Pete as Natasha opened up the first file and she saw the picture of a man along with other information.
"The three men, along with the one that died, were apparently part of some sort of gang" said Pete as he sighed.
"We have tried questioning the three men as they are now in our custody, but they refuse to speak, they all say that they would rather go to prison than blow the cover of their gang" said Pete as he shook his head.
"Did you try torturing them to get them to speak?" asked Natasha as she closed the first file and she looked at Pete.
"We are not allowed to do that in such cases like these, you shot them, they never shot you, so we can only charge them for their petty crimes on their files" said Pete.
"What a shame" said Natasha.
"I also tried using the phone of the dead man to call their supposed boss, but the number was unreachable, which means that he now knows the police are after him, so be probably destroyed his phone, and is now in hiding" said Pete.
"I wonder why" said Pete as he smiled.
"You are welcome" said Natasha as she laughed sheepishly, she really messed up on that one, because now they had no clues on this case at all.
"Mhmm" said Pete as he sighed and he shook his head.
"*Sigh*, This is all just frustrating for me, we have no lead at all" said Natasha as she sighed.
"I am just glad that these men did not go after me while Joy was still in the car, because, I don't know what I would have done if she was with me" said Natasha as she sighed.
"And I have been thinking about that Nat" said Pete as he seemed to be thinking.
"I believe that those men were following you long back, and you just did not notice" said Pete.
"They probably waited for you to drop Joy at school, and then they decided to strike" said Pete.
"But then, that would mean that whoever sent them, knows my schedule, and they only want to kill me" said Natasha as she seemed to be thinking.
"Which brings me to my main point" said Pete.
"You need to be more careful, we don't know who is targeting you, you need to stay in crowded places, you need to be protected, and be careful with who you talk with, anyone can be a suspect" said Pete.
"You don't have to tell me twice" said Natasha as she sighed.
"Which now brings me to my last point" said Pete.
"We are going to buy you a gun right now, so you can be able to protect yourself" said Pete.
"Alright, Alright, I like the sound of that" said Natasha as she laughed.
"So when are we leaving?" asked Natasha as she smiled.
"Right now, we'll take your car" said Pete as he stood up.
"Alright Commander" said Natasha as she laughed and she stood up as she followed behind him with a smile.
