Bab 69: Playdate
"Oh Joy, I forgot that I have to go and quickly check on something" said Alfred as he looked at Joy, he had completely forgot that he had to supervise the installation of a new ac unit in the north wing.
"I need to go now, I will be right back, so you can go and play with Ethan while you wait for me" said Alfred.
"Okay Alfred" said Joy as she smiled.
"Alright then, I will be right back" said Alfred as he smiled and he quickly walked away to the north wing, he was going to have to ask someone else, maybe Mason to supervise the installation.
Joy turned to look at Ethan who was busy ignoring her, all he did was play with the cars and roll them on the carpet as if he was driving the car.
Joy did not pay attention to Ethan's coldness, and she just walked to him and sat right down beside him on the carpet as she watched him with her big doe eyes.
"Why are you looking at me??" asked Ethan as he turned to look at Joy when he could no longer take the sight of her watching him like that, as if he was very interesting.
"Well we are supposed to play together" said Joy as she looked at him, and she said that with a matter of factly tone.
"No, we do not have to play together" said Ethan.
"But Alfred said that this is a playdate, and that in playdates, we play together" said Joy as she looked at Ethan with confusion.
"Well no, you do not always have to play together" said Ethan.
"Oh why??" asked Joy.
"Because I do not want to play with you" said Ethan.
"I only want to play with these cars" he said as he looked down.
"Then we can play with the cars together" said Joy as she smiled.
"No" said Ethan.
"Why not??" asked Joy.
"Well because you are a girl, and girls don't play with cars, they play with dolls" said Ethan.
"No... that is not true" said Joy.
"I like playing with cars too" said Joy.
"My daddy bought me those cars, because he also likes cars" said Joy as she smiled.
"This is my favourite car" said Joy as she stood up and she walked to the toy box at the corner of the room, she opened the lit and she brought out a little red car.
"It is very cool" said Joy as she walked back to where Ethan was and she sat down on the carpet.
"If you pull it like this" said Joy as she moved the car backwards on the carpet.
"It will move on it's own" said Joy as she let go of the car and it began to move and it hit Ethan's leg.
"It is very cool" said Joy as she laughed and she nodded her head as she looked at Ethan.
"Yes... it is very cool" said Ethan as he had never seen a car like that before, he was going to have to ask his father to buy him one.
"So why do you like cars??" asked Joy as she looked at Ethan as he pulled back the car and sent it back to her.
"They are cool, and big, and you can use them to go wherever you want" said Ethan as he turned to look at Joy.
"Very cool" said Joy as she laughed.
Joy stood up and she went back to her toy box, she saw her stuffed animal Mr. Stuffy, and she wanted to bring him out and play with him, until she remembered that she had a nightmare of Ethan tearing Mr. Stuffy, and she did not want that to happen, so she just left him in there.
Joy chose another toy, this time it was a police car, and she went to sit back down with Ethan.
"I also like police cars, they are very cool" said Ethan as he looked at Joy.
"My Uncle is a police man, and he let me and my mommy ride in his police car" said Joy as she giggled.
"He did??" asked Ethan and Joy nodded.
"Mhmmm" said Joy as she giggled.
"That is so cool" said Ethan as for once he looked very excited, he had always wanted to see a real police car.
"Yes it is" said Joy as she laughed.
"You are very lucky, I only see Police cars on the Tv" said Ethan.
"Well my Uncle Pete is very nice, maybe next time me and my mommy go and visit him, you can come with us" said Joy as she smiled.
"Really??" asked Ethan.
"Yes" said Joy as she giggled and she smiled.
"Well my mommy wants me to go to school" said Joy as she looked at Ethan.
"Do you go to school Ethan??" asked Joy as she looked at him.
"Yes" replied Ethan.
"And what is school like??" asked Joy as she was curious to know from a real person how school actually was, she had never gone to school before and she was scared.
"It is horrible" said Ethan.
"It is five hours of pure torture" said Ethan as he turned to look at Joy.
"You have to wake up very early in the morning to go to school" he said.
"The teachers are not your friends, they are your enemies" said Ethan.
"School is not fun at all, it is just a prison where adults throw Children in and they never come back for them" said Ethan as he laughed as he saw the scared look on Joy's face as she looked very frightened.
"No matter what, you can never go to school... because you will never be able to escape!!" said Ethan.
Joy began to cry, Ethan had scared her, she did not want to go to school, Ethan had said that it was a prison, and she would never be able to escape.
"I am going to tell my mommy" said Joy as she stood up with tears in her eyes.
"I do not want to go to school, I do not, it is scary" said Joy as she cried and she ran out the door.
"Oh boy, I am in serious trouble now" said Ethan to himself as he face-palmed, he had startled the little girl, and now he was not going to hear the end of it from his mother, she would scold him and scold him.
He just wanted to have a little fun, he was only playing with the girl and yet there she was crying and going to tattle to her mother.
Ethan sighed and he stood up, luckily for him, Joy had little feet, so she could not have gone far.
Joy was busy crying as she was looking for her mommy, she went to the direction of her room, thinking that maybe her mother would be there.
"Hey Joy, stop crying, wait up" said Ethan as he caught up to Joy and she stopped walking.
"I was just joking, school is not horrible it is very fun" said Ethan as he really hoped that he would not get in trouble.
"No, but you said it is a prison" said Joy as she cried and she sniffed.
"No no, I was just joking, because I am very stupid, school is very fun, you make many friends and you get to play" said Ethan as he smiled thinking that maybe that would get Joy to stop crying, but to his dismay she did not, and she started crying even more.
"Okay look, *Shush*, *Shush*" said Ethan was he was trying to get Joy to be quiet, because if she went on crying they would be caught soon, and Alfred was going to go back to the playroom, which meant that they had to go back there immediately before he got into serious trouble.
"If you stop crying I will give you chocolates" said Ethan as he looked at Joy as she looked at him with her teary eyes.
"You will??" asked Joy
"Yes, now stop crying" said Ethan.
"But you do not have any chocolates" said Joy.
"Oh no, I do, I do" said Ethan.
"Then show me" said Joy with her teary eyes.
"Ummm" said Ethan as he did not think that Joy was this smart.
"You do not have chocolates, you are a liar, a big liar" said Joy as she began to cry again, and Ethan sighed.
"Just what in the world is going on here??" asked Alfred as he walked in from the opposite side of where Joy and Ethan were standing, he was completely shocked, Joy was crying, and it looked like Ethan was trying to coax her??
"That is exactly what I want to know too" came the voice of the woman that Ethan wanted to avoid at all costs and she sounded very angry.
It was at this moment that Ethan knew that he was doomed.
