Awakening from sleep, the faint light from the lanterns filtered through the curtains. Su Xinyi shook her consciousness, surprised that she had slept to this hour. Sitting up, she lifted the curtain, intending to call for someone, when she saw His Highness reclined against the cushion of the Beauty, reviewing official documents.

The soft light fell upon him, his eyes, usually gentle when looking at her, now carried a hint of sternness, his lips tightly pursed. She was momentarily stunned.

It was rare for His Highness to show such an expression in front of her, which left her somewhat unable to regain her composure.

The person across seemed to sense something and suddenly lifted his head, then set aside the documents and stood up, walking towards her. As his steps drew nearer, the sternness on His Highness's face faded and the familiar gentleness returned to her view.

"Awake?"
