Adam understood the first thing that differentiated a human and any higher tier beings out there—They understood how Autonomousity worked. In the first place, every being created by God of Creation should be equal, so the existence of these entities was a form of anomaly. They managed to find a way to change the natural order of things and ascend into a higher realm of existence.
