Bab 72: Getting Deja-vu

"Can you kill someone with that part of your body during coitus?" 

A grin appeared on the alien's face. He was impressed by Archer's ability to keep a straight face while asking such a question. 

"Can't say I haven't wondered about the same myself," he answered. "Why don't you ask one of the crew members to volunteer as tribute?" 

"Then I'll volunteer." 

The listeners were scandalised by their chief officer's initiative. 

"Eh?" Was James' response. Archer's neutral expression was of no help in determining if he was serious or pulling James' leg. The duo wordlessly stared at each other. 

"Yeah... Wow," James said to him at last. "This isn't awkward at all." 

"It doesn't have to be. Can I come in?"

 Stepping aside without saying anything, James gestured for the chief officer to enter his room.
