Bab 42: Chapter 42

"What Are you talking about?" He held her hands trying to calm her nerves. But her whole body was quivering making Richard worried. He tried to help her sit on the couch but she heaved his hands off her and bent to pick up the necklace. 

She then rushed out of the room.

"What have you been doing with Jessica?" Marcus's voice shrieked at Eunice. She was on her knees with her head lowered. She rubbed her hands together as she savaged her lips. 

"I promised not to tell." Her tone was low. Eunice promised Jessica not to tell a word about Nicholas, but she feared Marcus more. 

Deep in her heart, she knew that all the crimson ever wanted was Jessica's wellbeing. They were keen on finding the cure just like she was. 

Marcus walked to Eunice and held her chin. His heart broke every second seeing her kneeling. But for rules' sake, he had to follow through with their protocols and to get the truth, Marcus will go to any extent.
