Bab 4: Battle End, New Battle Start
The Pokeball then fell on the ground and wiggled back and forth. I knew that this wasn't going to work, but it still bought us time to recoup.
"Chimchar and Mavis, the battle isn't over yet! Use Leer and Growl when Scyther comes out! Then, both of you will attack it together!"
"Piplup!"
"Chimchar!"
Hearing their affirmation, I smiled and prepared for my next move.

Expectedly, the Pokeball failed to capture Scyther and it came out. When it came back to its senses, it was as angry as ever! What a cheap trick, it thought.
At this moment, it felt the weakness overcoming it again. It was weakening again! How infuriating was this!?
Pakkk!
The next attack came quickly. Mavis used pound again while Chimchar used Scratch.
"Scyther!!!" Scyther yelled as the impact sent it to the ground again. This time, the damage done was even more than the last! Furthermore, it was two attacks at the same time!
Scyther felt weak after being ganged up on. It wanted to stand up but its legs felt weak and its Scythes were even weaker.
"Chimchar, finish the battle with ember!" I screamed with the loudest voice I could muster and pointed at Scyther. With this fire move, Scyther should be knocked out.
"..."
"..."
Both Chimchar and the girl looked at me with odd gazes.
"Uhh… what? Why are you guys looking at me like that?" I was dumbfounded after they stared at me. What did I do wrong? Shouldn't Chimchar just finish the battle?
"Umm… My Chimchar can't use Ember yet." The girl who had stopped whimpering after the battle started, answered. Her voice is soft, almost as if she's ashamed.
I became speechless. This was my oversight. I thought that the starter Pokemons would've all known at least one of their elemental moves.
"Is that so… forget it then. Pokeball, go!" I threw another Pokeball. Scyther was significantly weakened, and it could barely move now. Although the chances of capture might be higher if it was knocked out, I felt that my chances weren't that bad right now.
The Pokeball flew through the air very fast, and Scyther tried to dodge it, but it came too fast!
With a thump, Scyther was absorbed into the new Pokeball.
The Pokeball moved around a few times as Scyther struggled to get out. However, the struggle was weaker this time, and soon, the Pokeball stopped moving and yellow star lights emitted from the Pokeball.
"I… I actually captured the Scyther?" I expected it to come out again. Once it did, I was going to let Mavis attack again while letting Chimchar use growl. I would then throw a few more Pokeballs to catch it. Who would've thought that I was this lucky?
"Wow! Wow!! You captured a Scyther!! That's amazing!!" The girl behind me jumped up and down happily. She even used my shoulders to help her jumping height become even higher. As she did so, her red mini skirt also fluttered around with her.
"Hey, hey! Stop jumping! Go check up on your Chimchar." I stopped the excited girl. Her energy level is so high…
"That's right!" The girl stopped jumping and ran towards her Chimchar.
"Chimchar!" Chimchar also ran towards the girl and jumped in her arms.
"You did great, Chimchar. You did great in your first battle! From now on, we'll only get stronger, alright?" The girl took out a pink handkerchief and wiped the dirt away from Chimchar.
"Chim, Chimchar!" Chimchar clenched its fist to show its determination.
"You take a good rest now, okay?" The girl smiled at Chimchar and returned it to its Pokeball.
Seeing her do this, I also returned the proud Mavis back to its Pokeball.
"Sorry that Chimchar got hurt while I was commanding it in battle." I came to the girl and apologized.
The girl looked at me for a short moment before giggling.
"If it weren't for you, even I would have been harmed, not to mention Chimchar. Thank you a lot, umm…"
"I'm Ian Philips from Orlan village."
"Then… I'll like to thank you a lot, Ian… wait! Did you say Orlan village? I'm Zaphiel Valet, and I'm also from Orlan village, Ian! Did you also get your Piplup today!?" The girl got up and stared at me with shimmering eyes.
"Uhh, yeah," I answered her but retorted her in my consciousness. Why else would I be here with just a Piplup!?
"Wow!! That's amazing, Ian!" The girl said. Her eyes still sparkled nonstop.

I watched as my total reputation points reached 10. Even till now, I still don't know what triggers this reputation point system. The only thing I can think of is to bedazzle another human being.
"Yeah… I guess it is indeed amazing." I felt uncomfortable after being exposed under her shimmering eyes, so I slowly turned away from her and went to pick up Scyther's Pokeball.
As I picked up Scyther's Pokeball, I felt the girl sneak up behind me. She then tapped my shoulders shyly.
I turned around and looked at her pleasant face. Some of her pink hair strands flew across her face like the girls in some cliche anime confession scene. Her fingers were intertwined behind her back and she kicked the ground with her boot.
"Ian, may I…"
