The elders in question didn't really like their daughters. But it was still because of 'face' that they didn't kill them. But this was their biggest mistake. 

As it stands, they don't know where these women were.

Nonetheless, they could roughly draw out a circle around their maps, knowing what places the duo could possibly be in.

One should note that the current world/Domain they were in was 50 times larger than Wolfram's former world.

The entire empire was the size of an entire planet. This alone should show just how big the place was. Not to talk of how big the other neighboring memories would be. 

So even if they wanted to escape the empire, it should take tens of years to do so.
