"I don't believe that you've never played this game before." Rowan shook his head when Wren captured yet another of his Caissa pieces, the last remaining knight, no less.
"Why would I lie?" Wren smiled triumphantly as he set the knight at the end of the row of pieces he'd already claimed.
Rowan was still exhausted after everything that had happened. Wren, on the other hand, was irritatingly energetic, though he kept pretending to be on the verge of collapse so that Rowan would touch him to verify whether or not he'd succumbed to any aftereffects of using his magic to reanimate the birds. Rowan caught on after the second or third time, but he played along anyway, mostly because he liked that the only thing that seemed to be able to revive Wren during his sudden relapses was a kiss on the mouth.
Hope you enjoyed this fun flirtation. It sure was fun for me to write it. You know Wren can't help with the dirty talk, but Rowan likes it. Here's to hoping we get to see Wren deliver on his payment for losing the wager sometime soon. I can't be too mad at Loma for interrupting because I love her.
