The Li family members argued non-stop. Each of them wanted to be the one to go home. Whoever went back to retrieve the money that Old Madam Li had saved up over the years definitely would not return to the capital. The person would just take the money and run away.

Qiao Mei watched quietly as the Li family members quarreled and fought with one another. She was not in a hurry and just took it that the Li family members were putting on a "clown performance" for her.

"Mom! What are you doing!" Li Tao said.

"Qiao Mei, let me tell you the truth. We don't have that much money. The most that our family can pool together is 200 dollars. You can kill or torture us however you want. Just give us a quick death!" Old Madam Li said as she looked at Qiao Mei.
