Xu Ju acted like she had heard the biggest joke in the world. Qiao Mei actually wanted to take the college entrance examination! A country bumpkin intended to take the college entrance examination!

"When you were in the countryside, did your family send you to school?" Xu Ju asked as she looked at Qiao Mei curiously.

Typically, families in the countryside would not let girls go to school. They would give such good opportunities only to the boys. After all, the school fees cost an amount of money which could feed the family for a month.

"My grandfather taught me for a while and I also went to school for a period of time," Qiao Mei replied factually.
