It was rare to see Qian'e around today. She was wearing tattered clothes and an apron as she sat with the other womenfolk to process the pig offal.

She had never done something like this before, but she learned from them diligently. She did what the other women do and was not inferior to them at all.

No matter how Li Gui tried to dissuade Qian'e, she refused to listen and continued to sit there and work. Li Gui had no choice but to wake Qiao Mei and Xia Zhe up. Only Qiao Mei was able to persuade Qian'e.

"Mei Mei, go and take a look at Qian'e. Is this kid crazy? She's only just discharged from the hospital and hasn't recovered yet!" Li Gui said worriedly.

Qiao Mei took a quick look and said, "It's fine. Let her do it. She has to do something to relieve her boredom. From the looks of it, she must have thought things through. Mom, when you come back in the afternoon, teach her how to make popcorn."
