Marcus feared the results of what losing a squadron of the king's men meant...

"Where are their bodies?" He asked, knowing that potentially returning their corpses or at least their military identification could lessen the king's wrath...

"I don't know..." Raia shook her head, "They left the Guild Hall with Dew; after that, I know nothing..." She remarked.

Marcus had a scowl on his face as he stressed over the punishment headed in his direction. "Thanks, I'm not sure what to do with you... I don't think I can trust you to remain where you are within the guild; I don't even know if you can remain in the guild at all..." Marcus stated as he stood up, not waiting for an answer and leaving the room.

Raia nodded solemnly as she focused on a small indent at the table, doing everything to not burst into tears once more. Knots in her stomach, lump in her throat, regret washed over her as she felt every ounce of the weight of Marcus' words.
