Bab 163: Dream and desire

"Oh my god…" Meghan said when she noticed the sign. "Five kilometres! We're—we're almost there. I don't believe it. After all this time, we're finally…"

"Wait." Said Ray. "Don't jinx it. Let's get there first. Hold off on the celebration till then."

Meghan closed her mouth and merely nodded in response. He was right of course. After having struggled to get to the hospital for so many days, it would be devastating if they were blocked by yet another hurdle in their way. Meghan didn't want to take any risks. She merely bit back her excitement and forced herself to calm down.

Slowly, Ray began driving the car forward. It didn't take long to pass by the sign with the hospital name on it. Meghan couldn't help but sneak a peek at it as they drove past, taking in the reality that their destination was a mere five kilometres away.
