Bab 121: Shortage

Rody spent a good chunk of the afternoon with Biju. He listened patiently as the man narrated all the major events in his life. What started off as an invigorating story about how he overcame alcoholism and decided to enlist in the army, it quickly became one of tragedy, loss and solitude. Biju told Rody all about how he lost both his parents in a house fire while he was serving in finals few years, about how his wife abandoned their son and left with another man, about how difficult it had been to raise his boy all on his own only for him to leave the country after he got a job in Sri Lanka.

The sorrowful story seemed to turn around when Biju recounted how his son came back to live with him and bought a flat in Nesting Heights. He had started his own fertilizer business in the city and had plans to expand. He had apparently even found a girl whom he wished to get married to. But before any of that could happen, the outbreak took Biju's son away from him.
