She didn't take any carriage and as she didn't have a beast with her, she used the forest as she headed for the other city.

The forests were always filled with danger and coming across wild beasts was a normal occurrence and Alita wasn't scared this time when facing these beasts as she was here to temper herself.

On the fourth day of arrival, Alita nearly died after a venomous snake bites her.

She had been fighting a wolf with all of her concentration on it and didn't notice the snake that sneaks attacked her.
