Cherish Turner stood at the entryway, looking at the dark apartment, biting her lip in annoyance.

Was she too late?

Heavy footsteps sounded from behind. She stiffened and turned around suddenly, only to see him standing behind her. He was only wearing a shirt and trousers without a suit jacket. He held a packet of cigarettes in his hand, clearly about to get a smoke. She finally realized, he must've gone out to buy cigarettes.

She looked at him, his cold handsome face always devoid of emotions. Perhaps it was an illusion, but there seemed to be a hint of sorrow in his slightly knitted brows. She noticed some stubble on his firm chin. He was always clean and heroic, how could he have such a haggard side?

Somewhat saddened, she surprisingly felt upset.
