Bab 28: "Day Off"
Paulo and his teammates are done with today's training session the sun has set down and the lights are turned on. Paulo even coming very late at the training he trained himself enough and he was feeling pretty much satisfied with it as well. After the training team gathers around the coach Ale Piola as he wants to talk to them something about the upcoming match.
"So all of my players there are only two days to go and after that we are going to play our upcoming match and this is the must win match for us to stay in first division of the Italian league. I had already explained you all about the plans and the tactics now we have to execute them with perfection. I believe in you all that you will not disappoint me it's time to prove that we are still in it are you ready for it ?" Ale Piola asking his players and they replied saying with high voice.
"YES SIR" The players replied him full of zeal and confidence and because of their energy and the commitment to the upcoming game Ale Piola is also feeling very much confident as well. Later he told his players that the the today's training session is ended and they will meet next day again with full of energy. The players started to leave while Ale Piola called Paulo and said.
"Paulo you know what I had told you to do ?" Ale asked him and then he replied by saying.
"Yes coach, I know that I have to take rest for a day tomorrow so that I can recover." Ale was quite happy to know it and later he gave him some advice that.
"And yeah the rest day that I am giving you is only for your recovery only. Remember that it doesn't mean you could do anything and eat anything that you want, like 5 to 9 slices pizzas and drinking some Dutch beer and having a late night out, No it is not for that for that Ok ? It is only because you don't feel exhausted on the game day, keep your diet and your routine clean tomorrow Ok." After Ale's advice Paulo said.
"Yes Coach I will do exactly what you told me to do." After saying that the coach allow him to go then he take a leave from there. Fabio is waiting for him right there in the parking lot area right inside his car, Paulo reaches to his car and then Fabio asked the reason why he was still inside there while others came out already.
"What you were doing inside there while all of the players already came out ? What took you so long to come out from the training ground huh ?" Paulo then answers his all questions.
"Ahh.... Nothing I was just discussing something with our coach that's why it took so long." Fabio chuckles a little bit and then asked.
"Well what you were discussing with the coach, What kind of secret weapon he handed you that you are going to use in the match, tell me as well a little bit about it." After hearing that from him Paulo also chuckles as well on it then he said.
"No 'amigo' ! No ! there is nothing like that what you are thinking right now, he just told me that a rest for tomorrow, he said that I should not come for tomorrow's traning session at all but I don't understand why he told me to do that." After that Fabio answered him why the coach asked him to take rest.
"Ugh... You are new to it right, you are not fully professional in football at all that's why the coach don't want to risk you during the match because at this stage you over train yourself you can get injured very easily." Paulo however said that.
"Hmm... might be this is the case, I think that the coach really want me to play the first match." Hearing this Fabio replied.
"Yeah ! He is very much concerned about you he doesn't want to rush you into this and he is serious about you and your condition as well and you need to agree with me as well that over doing and over training can seriously damage your muscles. In my opinion the coach has made a right decision to allow you to take some rest." With those words from Fabio Paulo then said.
"Ok, so are we going to stay here all night in the car or are we going back to our homes now ?" Fabio just laughs off and said.
"Oh.. Oh.. I am sorry mate, I am really sorry, I really can't remember that because I was so much into the conversation with you. Ok now it is time to go back to our respective home." After that Fabio take his car out of the parking lot and go back to thier home.
During there way home they are still talking about the one day rest that is given by Ale Piola. He literally asked him.
"So how do you going to spend your or are you doing nothing as usual ?" After hearing he answered all of his questions.
"C'mon ! it is just a one day off not a three week vacation what do you want me to do in a one day off from my work." Paulo said and then he was looking bit annoyed by his questions and then Paulo further asked.
"Ok tell me what you do whenever you had a day off from your work huh ?" Paulo asked him the question then Fabio answered him in a very funny way, he said.
"Well I would celebrate that day that nobody do and eat every single Italian dishes which I never had plus I would get the best wine in italy as well." Fabio was lying to him and Paulo was a bit confused by his answer he later confess.
"Ahhh..... Don't worry man I was just kidding Yeah you are right you can't do much in just a single day and we are footballers we have to take care about our diet as well." Paulo wanted to continue this conversation and also wanted know something more in fact he wanted to dig down deep and learn about how Fabio spend his day off from football. He asked.
"Ok tell how do you spend your day when you are from football ?" Fabio then answers his question by telling about his routine.
"On my off day ? Umm.. Nothing special, wake up in the morning then have a strong coffee to get some serious energy and after that I train myself alone for an hour then I take a bath and after taking bath it is afternoon and I take my lunch. After my lunch I go out to the gym for my recovery session for almost two and a half hour and then it is evening I gather with my friends and teammates at the bar shop to have some beer and together we enjoy a quality time after that at night come back to my home have dinner and watch something in television and then I finally go to sleep. That's my schedule on my off day." Fabio after telling him about his schedule Paulo replied.
"Well that's a pretty decent but a long schedule you follow." both just chuckled a bit and they were on their way to home.
