At first listen, Charlotte Cooper's tone indeed seemed somewhat angry. But after spending so long together, Henry Russell could still discern whether Charlotte was genuinely angry or just pretending.

"Your silence implies consent to this name. From now on, I'll call you my wife, and you must call me your husband, without any objections!"

Henry's clear voice laced with laughter travelled through the phone, over the significant distance, and reached Charlotte's ears, uncontrollably bringing a smile to her lips.

"Shameless! Who agreed to that?"

Long after the phone call was hung up, Henry was still holding his cell phone, giggling like a lovestruck fool.

Looking at the time, it was only half past eight in the morning. Charlotte had woken up not too late, but Henry was inexplicably impatient, eager to finish all his work and return to be with Charlotte.
