The endless twilight sky had long lost its original colors.

Charlotte Cooper had also long put down her feelings, like the fleeting sunset, nothing more than a passing sight. After returning, Henry Russell still treated Charlotte coldly but did not leave her to fend for herself. The cold breeze howled outside at night, and the chilled hearts would not warm up under the shelter of the house.

A sudden phone call broke the standoff between Charlotte and Henry, who were staring at each other.

Without a word, Henry picked up his coat hanging on the wall, closed the door, and left, leaving the lonely Charlotte behind.

"The sooner I let go, the sooner I can move on." Charlotte comforted herself while actually resenting Henry's relentless suspicion and cursing Lily McKenzie's unscrupulous slander.

At present, the only person Charlotte could vent her anger at was Lily, who was well aware of her intentions.
