Susan Hawk closed the file in her hand suddenly, put it aside, and turned her head to look out the window, only to find it was already noon.
"Hungry?" Ethan Carter stood up from his chair, dropped the files on the table, and put on his coat hanging on the back of his chair.
"I'll treat you to lunch." Ethan finished saying and walked towards the door.
After a few steps, he found it strange that he didn't hear any footsteps behind him. When he turned around, he saw Susan staring straight at him, standing still.
Ethan frowned slightly and repeated, thinking Susan might not have heard him, "I'm treating you to lunch, come on."
"No need," Susan shook her head, revealing a faint smile at the corner of her mouth, "I'll just go home. There's no need to trouble you."
"Huh?" Ethan was slightly displeased, but he didn't show it. Half-jokingly, he said, "Miss Hawk, are you not giving me any face?"
