Henry Russell's face was livid. "What are you talking about?"

"Isn't it?" Charlotte Cooper looked toward the balcony where Lily McKenzie was still standing.

Seeing Charlotte's gaze, Lily had a polite smile on her face.

But that smile, which might seem polite to others, looked like a provocation in Charlotte's eyes.

Charlotte's anger was suddenly triggered, and she glared back furiously.

Henry walked over to Charlotte and put his arm around her shoulder, intending to take her downstairs. But Charlotte stood still, giving him the "Nope, I'm not leaving until you explain" look.

Henry raised an eyebrow and whispered into her ear. Charlotte's face turned red, and she glared at him fiercely. This time she walked downstairs without his arm around her, her high heels clicking sharply on the floor.

A helpless smile flickered in Henry's eyes as he followed her down.
