Bab 55: Corruption is salvation 2/2

In the basement fo the house, several hours later.

"Well, it's not too late to back down now." I say with an amused look as I watched Diarmuid laying down on the floor in the middle of a circle.

"I would look like a coward then, wouldn't I?" replied Diarmuid with an equally amused expression.

I shook my head at his words and went in Medea's direction, who was currently checking Artoria's body as she laid down in the other circle.

"I get that this should theoretically work, but it is weird doing things without testing them first." I tell Medea as I crouch down, looking closely at my wife's body.

"Well, if anything goes wrong it is your fault for approving of the idea and Diarmuid's fault for agreeing to participate. Maybe even your wife's fault for being so obsessed with you that she would let herself be experimented on." said Medea, still focused on Artoria, who looked at me with a slightly entranced expression.

"Don't worry my dear." I tell Artoria while caressing her cheek. "I will show you later how loyalty is rewarded, so there is nothing to worry about."

A small smile appeared on her face as she once again looked at the ceiling, her body straight as she laid down on her back.

The two circles on the floor were connected by several lines, giving them a strange yet mystic appearance as the paintings slowly changed colour, from golden to red and black.

"Let's do this." said Medea, standing up and heading to the middle of both circles with me. Because of her skill 'high speed divine words', she didn't need to spend any time creating chants for this spell, which saved us both time and sanity, by not forcing her to mutter edgy sentences and not forcing me to hear them, instead the three words she had prepared were more than enough.

"Corruption is salvation." she said, and in an instant the circles lighted up. Artoria's circle quickly turned completely black and red while Diarmuid's became completely golden.

With the movements of both her arms and her hands, Medea directed the corruption from Artoria to the space between both circles, making the 'darkness' expand and consume the golden light.

She was currently controlling within the territory she created, a.k.a. the circles, all of Artoria's magical energy. It required control beyond anything even a great magus could accomplish, so Medea naturally needed both concentration and appropriate support.

"Do it now!" said Medea loudly as a drop of sweat trailed down her neck.

Lighting up one of my command seals, I looked in Diarmuid's direction. "By the command seal, I order you, Lancer, to accept Saber's corruption!" I say loudly and, while one of the command seals disappeared, the speed at which the darkness in the circles expanded and devoured the golden light increased.

It was working, that much was evident, however I wasn't sure of how perfect the results would be. Against Archer and Rider, having the ability to die several times was important, so not letting Diarmuid use it was out of the question. This meant that he would need to be able to die, and if every time he died the corruption of Angra Mainyu would increase until it actually got dangerous, then it will become a problem anyway.

Then, regarding the Alter form itself, well it was simply impossible for me to force Diarmuid into an Alter form without utterly and completely betraying him and forcing enough damage into his mental state for him to invert, kind of like I did with Artoria.

This too was obviously out of the question, so Medea came up with the idea of letting Artoria's corruption take over Diarmuid, basically what Angra Mainyu does only that this would be in a more controlled environment with a corruption that isn't so... messed up.

A smile appeared on Medea's face as the darkness continued to take over the golden light. "Do the next one!" she said loudly.

Another command seal lighted on my hand as I continued focused on Diarmuid. "By the command seal, I order you to enter your Alter form, Diarmuid!"

As soon as the words came out of my mouth, the darkness finished devouring the golden light and the circles turned off, making everything go dark.

The lights turned back on and I saw the two circles and the people inside them. Artoria slowly got up while rubbing her head. "That felt weird." she muttered with a confused expression.

On the other circle, a man with white hair stood up as well. "You are right." he said. "That did feel really weird."

Medea and I looked at each other for a moment before looking back at them. I moved in Artoria's direction and helped her up while Medea moved in Diarmuid's direction.

"You alright?" I asked Artoria, looking her in the eyes.

"I am." she replied before focusing on me, her eyes slowly gaining an obsessed look as her cheeks reddened.

"You sure?" I asked confused.

She simply nodded at my words and finished standing up.

Moving in Diarmuid's direction, I saw him with a black and red coloured armour, similar to the one Artoria had. His hair turned white and his eyes turned yellow, becoming just like the ones of my wife, which was undoubtedly... strange.

"You are thinking about the eyes right?" asked Medea, noticing my gaze.

"Yes." I replied while nodding.

"Well, the eyes are said to be the windows of the soul, and in a way we kind of made their souls touch so the corruption could expand, so his eyes did become similar to Saber's."

I nodded, but remained focused on Diarmuid. "How are you feeling?" I asked.

"Good." he replied with his usual smirk. "Different, but good."

I nodded while rubbing my chin. His alignment before the 'inversion' was lawful neutral, and right now he was lawful evil, which means his change wasn't as radical as Artoria's. In a way it was a much lighter inversion because the corruption used was my corruption on Artoria instead of All of the Evils in the world.

"Well, with this I can officially say that every single one of us would make a great villain." I said with an amused smile. "And as all villain groups require, we need a cool name."

"I think you should read this before focusing on choosing a name." said Giorno as he entered the basement with a letter in his hand.

Raising my eyebrow, I focused on the letter and tried to guess what it might be. If Giorno came down to deliver it instead of waiting for us to go upstairs then it must be quite important.

Taking the letter and reading it, a smile grew on my face. "Well, well, well." I muttered with an amused look before raising my eyes. "It appears we have been invited to dinner." I say while handing the letter back to Giorno. "Apparently Tokiomi would like to talk to us in the church, which is obviously neutral ground no one would ever dare to do anything in it."
