Bab 97: shopping with mom

Alex sat in the passenger seat with a straight face, not saying a single word even when Emily kept blabbing non-stop.

"Come on, don't be like that. Don't you want to accompany mommy for a while? I have missed you all these while but it seems you are annoyed by me instead"

Emily muttered loud enough for Alex to hear. Her tone was dejected and sad.

August, who was currently driving, almost burst out laughing.

Alex's face twitched slightly. She was obviously faking it but her words were in a way, true.

"Hahaha. How could that be? Of course, I missed you too, I am just a bit tired" Alex laughed awkwardly, not knowing what to do next. Seeing that Emily was staring at him with big round eyes, he suddenly stretched his hand and patted her head.

Emily was taken aback that Alex took the initiative to pat her head but the astonishment did not last long as a bright smile stretched her lips, with her eyes closed. She looked so breathtaking, so cute, and beautiful at the same time.
