NEW WORLD
Dark skies, no visible clouds, and countless Stars.
A thick forest compounded by huge trees that were beyond description. The place should be quiet but that wish was thrown off the rooftop by the sounds of crickets and other nightlife.
In this forest that seems to be void of humanity, in the middle of a certain lake. A boy slowly sat up while gritting his teeth from the pain spreading all through his body.
He looked around him with a perplexed expression, seemingly trying to understand what happened to him. He stared at the water and was baffled by his reflection; he looked so.... different.
Short blonde hair, blue eyes, a small nose, and thin lips, an almost round face. He looked so feminine.
If it had been a picture, Max would have sworn that his new appearance belonged to a girl. He raised his hand to touch his face when he suddenly felt a sharp pain from his elbow, he looked down only to find a cut on his elbow, it wasn't wide but certainly deep, it probably should be called a stab instead.
"Why do I suddenly feel pain??" Max was puzzled. He tried to remember what happened that might have brought him here, all he could remember was trying a spirit-grade herb to help him transcend to immortality, then after which his core erupted and...
"F*ck!! I died" Max cursed out loud when he remembered how he died trying to break the last phase of cultivation.
"Then why am I still alive? Did I reincarnate? That might probably be the most logical explanation for how I got here"
Max was trying to remember More when he was suddenly assaulted by a mind-shattering pain in his head and his vision started to turn black before he passed out.
After what seemed like some hours, Max finally regained consciousness. He sat up in the lake which he still hadn't left before passing out earlier, his expression was inexplicable. He was conflicted, confused, and amazed at the same time. Although he was very unwilling to accept the fact that he had died just like that, the feeling of reincarnation quickly overshadowed his unwillingness.
"Earth huh? So I reincarnated into earth. No wonder I feel so weak. People here don't cultivate, they focus more on science. I don't even know how to feel about it. It's almost like i'm starting from scratch only that I'm already the strongest here. After all, I am the only one with knowledge of cultivation here" Max muttered to himself.
"Even if I don't mean to, I just can't help thinking about it. And from the memory I got, the previous owner of this body is just a teenager in high school. Just imagine living like a big boss amidst weaklings, a good definition of a wolf in sheep's clothing but I'm not evil though.
Hmm. Since time here is the same as my home planet" Max said as he gazed at the sky" I think it's already the third hour now(3:00 am), but what was this weak boy doing out here at this time? A suicide expedition?"
Max dived into the memories of his new body's previous owner and according to what he could get, this kid's name is Alex. He's a child of a relatively rich family.
His dad is a CEO of a huge business empire while his mom is a medical advisor of a large hospital. Alex is the only child for now since his mom is pregnant. Alex is currently sixteen years old and he's kind of intelligent, maybe average should be a better way to describe him.
He has so many junior and senior girls crushing on him at school since he was rich and handsome. Although he didn't show off, almost all the boys hated him and this often earned him sessions of bullying since he couldn't fight To put it simply, Alex was a piece of meat in a lion's cage.
A few days ago, Alex's school organized a school trip to the wild. After setting camp, Alex was dragged off by the girls so they could explore together.
Alex was a shy type and also an introvert so after getting all red from being teased by the girls, he finally managed to escape. He walked casually inside the forest so he could cool off a bit but he encountered a king cobra which made the scared cat climb a tree only to fall to his death in this very lake because the snake followed him up the tree.
"...."
Max was speechless "Was this Alex a fool or something? Why would he climb a tree when being chased by a snake?" Max facepalmed " My reputation here has already faced a huge breakdown before I could even start" Max was baffled by Alex's stupidity. Well, there was nothing he could do now other than to build a new reputation for himself here. There was no use crying over spilled milk and he would also need to get used to being called Alex.
"Seriously? I don't want to change my name but it's not like I can tell anyone that i'm a transmigrant from another universe, right?"
Max stood up and observed himself "At least I get a good look as a bonus in exchange. I look eighteen when I'm only sixteen but I shouldn't think much of it. I am already over a thousand years old in my old world anyways".
Max looked at his soaked uniform of a silver-colored top with a black tie and black pants, white socks, and a black shoe. It should have been a good-looking set but was currently looking miserable.
"Well it's understandable since I have been in that lake for good two days plus all the falling from earlier" Max walked out of the lake and tried to dry himself (by using his almost dried shirt since he has been sitting for a while now).
While drying himself. He realized that his wounds were healing "Wow! So I can still use my Powers here?" Max was ecstatic. Come to think of it, he didn't try it out after waking up; this was a really pleasant surprise to him.
He then tried to view his surrounding with 'divine eyes'. It was still quite dark so visibility was low. Max activated the skill again but everything was still dark...meaning the skill failed to work.
