Nicholas rolled his eyes and sighed in frustration when he heard what his mother said. Of course, he knew she was not sleeping, he wasn't fooled by the beauty sleep excuse she just gave. His mother could be so mischievous and dramatic sometimes. He just wondered the kind of game she was playing with him this time

"I'm sorry for disturbing your beauty sleep, mom. I just wanted to know why you left in a hurry without informing anyone?" He had to apologize. He thought he should humor her by letting her think her excuse worked on him.

"I didn't leave in a hurry. I'm not a thief, Nicholas!" She snapped at him instead, making him wonder if someone made her angry before he called

"You said it yourself that I didn't inform you before coming to your house, so I just felt it wasn't necessary to inform you before leaving"
