Chapter 53: Dear pretend mom

Pepper tried to settle in her new office. Even though she had been promoted weeks ago, she only resumed duties that morning. According to Mr. Anthony Spencer, she has been assigned a personal assistant, a car, a house and a personal driver.

She should be over the moon but all she felt was hurt and empty for the better part of the day.

"Are you alright?" Anthony Spencer had asked her over the phone.

"Of course, I am ecstatic. Thank you so much"

"Your P.A is…I don't know how to put it, unusual but just make it work. He is the son…" Anthony's voice trailed off as Pepper cut him off.

"Got it, I have to go now. I am sure that whomever this VIP personal assistant is, I can handle them. Thanks, Mr Spencer"

As soon as Pepper hung up, there was a slight knock on the door and Kurt pushed him way inside.
