Asher's demeanor was serious and passionate. Thinking back on last night, he could have handled things better. He could have been sincere about the reason he stopped things from going further.

"Well, Asher…your actions keep saying different things from your words. But you've made it crystal clear from the beginning that when it comes to sexually, you want nothing to do with me. Asher lifted her easily and placed her on the kitchen table just in the same position they found Junie earlier on. He spread her legs and stood in-between them.

"Enough with the insults, Calliope….just enough, alright? I leave tomorrow morning with my daughter and I need to correct a notion and so now I am asking for permission to make out with you. Do I have your permission?" Asher waited patiently for her response.
