With his response, Sylvia remained silent. She did not really know where Jack got the confidence, but for some reason, after experiencing all during the past 2 days, she had already started believing in what he said.

Since Jack had already said that he was going to be capable of taking care of the problem if it came, then, she decided not to focus on the matter. Instead, she decided that she was going to deal with it another thing, and that was, how they were going to handle what was coming next.
