Jocelyn seemed to understand why Aren was so good at martial arts.
As the only successor of the Brown family, if he wasn't trained, he would probably have long become dust.
Wealthy and famous were what outsiders would describe him, but they did not know what he was shouldering.
Jocelyn looked up at Aren's calm face. In the face of such a dangerous scene, he did not look panicked or uneasy, as if it was just a day to day occurrence.
"What is there to be afraid of? Your life is much more valuable than mine. I am just a pitiful creature who doesn't have parents who love me." Jocelyn remembered her own situation and smiled self-deprecatingly. "The only thing I am afraid of is being a burden to you and getting you into trouble."
Aren was not happy that it took Jocelyn so long to answer his question.
Aren's expression darkened slightly as he looked at Jocelyn with a sharp gaze. "If you're afraid, you can just tell me."
