The door closes, and I want to turn around and run back into the corridor for a second. But instead, the smell that assaults my nose is one I wish I never had to smell again.

The sweet mixture of fennel, nutmeg, cinnamon, ground ginger, and clove fills the air, and I hate it. The signature smell of someone who made my life miserable every other weekend without fail. 

Jackie.

My animosity toward all three women was definitely there, but my relationship with Jackie wasn't like the other two. Where Darla and Stephanie looked down at me, they didn't actively seek to get me in trouble with Ricky. But, on the other hand, Jackie made it her mission in life to get me killed.

I don't know what I did to make her hate me, but Jackie wasn't happy unless I was in pain. Going as far as to steal one of Ricky's prized and favored daggers, hiding it in my bag, and watching with a grin as he beat me nearly to death.
