Louisa, who was paying attention to Adelaide's lips curl in motion, could swear that she'd not at all heard any of her words but could tell what it was she spoke about simply by reading the message from her lips.

Truthfully, she'd not harbored much thought about spying on Rochester's reunion with his sister. But now that she'd since returned from getting confronted by Mrs. Phellipe, she'd started to consider it.

Louisa thought how great it would be to eavesdrop and also learn more about the suitor Roxanne had brought back with her.

Louisa was sure she would give anything to not have the man be the same Haswell she'd had certain dealings with some time before. If he was, she may just have to dig up a hole for herself to plunge herself into. Or she could just come clean and be plain about everything, telling all to Rochester before leaving.
