Julian's eyes narrowed slightly. "That's really the answer you're going with?"
"Why not? It's the truth," Izzy said, a bit confused.
"I see."
She shifted uncomfortably under his gaze. "…was it the wrong answer?"
"There are no wrong answers when it comes to subjective questions," he replied coolly. Somehow, the way he said that made it seem like he really didn't like subjective questions. So why was he asking them?
"Okay. Do you have anything else to ask me or can I go read now?"
This guy was a bit weird after all. He was far too straightforward and she felt more like a science experiment than a person right now.
Julian cleared his throat. "One more thing. Why did you sign my cast as 'your library buddy'?"
Izzy shrugged. That was easy enough to answer. "I thought we had a sort of mutual understanding going on since we saw each other every day. I guess you didn't think the same, huh?"
