Marcel had nearly beaten Damon to pulp after his confession, Joan wasn't left out, she also gave him some nice beatings too. Isla had to step in and save him from more assault, reminding them that he was just recovering so they had to deal with him gently. And Damon gladly cowered behind her, she was his princess charming, and he was the prince in panic.

"Marcel honey let's go. He's fine enough to lie, it means he's fine enough to take care of himself now." Joan had said before leaving with Marcel, pretending to be angry when in reality she could not wait to go share the good news to everyone else. 

"I'm sorry" Isla says as Damon all dressed up to walk out of the hospital was systematically avoiding every female nurse and doctors and patients in the hospital.

This was why he hated hospitals, it was crawling with female nurses and patients, meandering through them was like trying to glide through a field of thorns without being pricked. It was near impossible.
