Bab 146: Chapter 146: Victory
Talos, a Skrull, tracked Captain Marvel Carol to Earth six years ago in search of his lost wife and children and his people, and to help them find a safe place to stay.
Erik later repelled the Kree fleet that came after him and placed him and his people on Vormir, where the Soul Gem was hidden.
As a Skrull, and the leader of a clan, Talos has one of the best shape-shifting abilities in the pack, and when he shape-shifts, not only does he gain short-term memories of the original, but he even copies a little of their powers.
Just a little, of course, and when Erik invites him to become himself, he gains only some simple magnetic control abilities, which he cannot use after encountering the X-gene suppressor.
Almost all of the powers he exhibited came from the few rings in his hand, the Ten Rings that originally belonged to Mandarin .
Apart from the Shock Ring, given to Skye long ago, the Lightning Ring given to Barton, the Dark Force Field Ring temporarily loaned to Blade, and the Mind Augmentation Ring, which was hung around Skye's neck and used to influence Tony Stark, the other six rings were all on his hand.
Combined with some of Erik's improvised secondary technological equipment and his extensive combat experience, it was unlikely that he could defeat the Star Child, but it was more than enough to hold him up.
The Star Child was just a 20-metre tall Celestial kid, and it would have been very easy for Eric to take him out, but he didn't dare.
He couldn't be sure if there was some unknown form of communication between the Celestials, and what if, after he took out the Star Child, other adult Celestials came to Earth for revenge?
The 20,000-foot-tall Celestial, for example, was an existence that would require Rogue to absorb the powers of all of Earth's superheroes to barely defeat, and if he ran into that Celestial now, he would have no choice but to run or surrender.
But wasn't it a bit of a waste to let a living Celestial go when they were right in front of him? Eric thought, "Even if it's a rock, I'll have to scrape a layer of dust off you!
When the Star Child saw Erik teleporting and the "Erik" he was fighting with turning into a green skin, he immediately knew he had been tricked, and now he was even more furious.
"Destruction!" The Celestial roared, and a huge blast of energy swept across Eric's face.
His energy came from the sun, but when it was used, the energy level was clearly higher than that of the sun, and whatever was touched by the energy blast would be blown to pieces.
Eric drew a circle in front of him and opened a portal, trying to teleport the Celestials' attack elsewhere, and it was only after the possible amount of shock hit him that he realised he had thought too much of it.
The energy of the Star Child, surprisingly, was vaguely able to affect space, and his portal, simply could not carry this kind of energy, it was not a matter of quantity, but of quality.
"Indeed, Gods, there is an essential difference between them and mortals!" Eric felt the energy with excitement, it would probably provide him with a path forward in the future.
His next path had been confirmed by the former Watcher, through the calcination of the Eternal Flame, to help him raise the level of his life and fuse the four fundamental forces.
At that time, his life level would undergo a qualitative change and he would be freed from his mortal body and ascend to the level of a god!
This kind of god is not a metaphysical, omnipotent god, but a higher level of evolution, like All Father Odin and Thor, the God of Thunder.
At that time, he would advance to the All Father level and stand on the same level as Odin.
This was the conclusion Erik had reached after countless calculations, but what was the path after that? He was at a loss.
Thinking about other divine systems on Earth, Odin and Thor's divine system seemed to grow through the accumulation of divine power and inheritance. Let Erik wait for thousands of years to accumulate power? Or let him develop believers? Or to kneel to the goddess of death? I can't do that!
So, it's better to look into these cosmic gods known as the Celestial.
The portal was not working, so Eric set up a magnetic shield, a gravitational shield, an energy shield, and a strong and weak force in turn, determined to analyse the energy composition of the Star Child by defending it without attacking it.
"It seems to be a very primitive energy, one that is capable of evolving almost every type of energy I have at my disposal!" Erik narrowed his eyes and tried to isolate a trace of this energy from the Celestials' attack.
This primal energy was very little, almost imperceptible, but it had a direct impact on the Star Child's level, keeping him firmly at the level of "God".
"Pristine but pure, rare but at a very high level, this energy is like it came from the beginning of the Big Bang!" The corners of Eric's mouth turned up, "Let's call it primordial cosmic energy for now, this is what I need for the future!"
Eric felt that he had caught the key and looked a little excited, which angered the Star Child more and more, as the energy pounded on and on, striking another attack, which was his special power, Calculation.
All the barriers in front of Erik turned into bubbles under this attack. Erik woke up instantly, darted out of the way, and before the Star Child could react, a teleportation ran to the back of his head and punched him hard.
The four basic forces coalesced in this punch and exploded, pouring out a huge amount of energy like a missile on the back of the Star Child's head.
Erik cautiously observed the state of the Celestial to avoid him being blown to death directly by himself, and eventually, with one punch, the Celestial fell unconscious to the ground.
"Eric, you've gotten stronger again!" Talos, who was hiding, gulped and slowly walked over, looking at his fist with a heartfelt look on his face.
"Haha, Talos, thanks a lot this time, come to my house for a drink later!"
Hearing Eric's invitation, Talos shook his head, "No, another time, my fourth child is on the way and I wouldn't even leave the house if you didn't need help this time."
Erik nodded in understanding and asked casually, "Are you getting used to living on Vormir?"
"Of course, it's a beautiful place, rich in product, and no Kree!" A look of contentment appeared on Talos' large green face, but also with a hint of regret, "It's a pity that we can only live on such a nice planet for twenty years, you don't know, Erik, we are all living in a pinch."
Eric could not help but be silent at his words, and only after a long time did he pat Talos on the shoulder and solemnly promise, "Talos, prepare yourselves and be ready to move at any time, in as little as one year, in as long as three, I will send you a perfect home."
