Being seen by his mother-in-law on his knees in punishment wasn't a proud moment for Chen Jianye, a grown man, and thus, he kept silent.

But he couldn't avoid it and attempted to appear calm, "It's nothing, just being on my knees because I made a mistake."

He didn't have the face to tell his mother-in-law what the "good deeds" he had done were.

Li Chunhua, however, was indignantly saying, "Jianye has been kneeling all afternoon, he hasn't even had lunch!"

Old Mrs. Li was even more shocked, "They even denied him food? Why?"

She couldn't wrap her head around what terrible mistake he could have made that would make parents severely punish their son like this.

Just as Li Chunhua was about to answer, Chen Jianye quickly cut her off, "Mom, if you want to talk, go inside with Chunhua."

Although it was inevitable she'd find out, he'd appreciate it if they could save some of his face and not discuss it in front of him.
