Today was an outside play day! The backyard wasn't all that big, but it was enough for the 2 toddlers to stretch their legs and run around like the little monsters they were. Light happily went to the small plastic slide and slid down.
Hikaru followed right behind him.
Chirp!
"??" He looked over to the fence. A small finch chirped down at something random, however it didn't sound so random to the young Yagami. It was strange, seeing as this was the first time, he heard something like this from a bird.
"Birdy?" He called to it. The small bird jumped and looked at the small child. It gave another chip, as if asking what the child wanted. Hikaru hesitated for a moment before holding his hands out in a cupping gesture. "Come here?"
The bird flew down and gently landed in his hands. His eyes opened as wide as saucers.
Holly Sh-
...
A few months later.
"Where mommy?" Light asked, Aizawa looked to his boss's child awkwardly. Hikaru gave the poor guy a break and pointed to the room.
"Mommy is hafing Sissy ou' of 'ummy." He explained.
"Why?" The curious toddler asked.
" 'o Pway!" he proudly tapped his chest. Aizawa gave a deep sigh of relief seeing the younger Yagami brother explain it.
"Oh? it's a girl?" He asked. The Yagami brother froze and looked to young officer.
"of cous!" He huffed. "Mommy said she wanf one!"
"Oh?" He accepted the answer casually. Light still kept looking at the door with stars in his eyes.
The kid was about to be a brother once more! And this one would be tinnier then his current brother!
"The 2 little ones may come in." The 2 children immediately got up and rushed into the room. they both rushed to their mother's side.
"Mommy where is sissy?" Light asked, looking around. Both Yagami parents looked surprised that Light already knew the gender but put it away to show the 2 brothers their new sister.
"Meet little Sayu..." It didn't take long for them both to freeze.
Ah, the familiar monkey face.
...
"Pre-school test?" Hikaru looked at his mother incediously. She smiled at her baby and gave his forehead a little kiss. Light also came over and looked at the little pamphlet. It didn't take long to understand what it was for.
it was an IQ test, and those with Higher IQ could get into higher ranked schools under a scholarship. It didn't take long for him to know who brought this up.
hence, they were both scooped up and made to do the test that day.
The test was basic knowledge, so both he and Light should pass with flawless marks.
A few days later we got the results, both of us had a similar IQ count... with Hikaru having slightly less than light.
he sure as hell didn't pout. He was a freaking adult! Adults don't pout!
....
it turns out that Koda's quirk is a lot more helpful than he thought. During the first week of preschool, he managed to get light to help him look for scraps of metal around the school playground. (Very hard to come by, Curse the school's safety standards!)
He sighed and wished to get a few more parts, to which the small birds and animals brought to him. So, with the help of Add's power, he was able to make his first little nasoid. It was a silvery small pen, but it was only thing he could make without it being suspicious.
The pen Nasoid was only temporary. it was more like an info gathering tool with a few self-defense features.
It also turns out that nasoid technology is a lot more advanced than he thought. The little pen alone could bring the engineering world to its knees...
yea... definitely need to keep that under wraps.
...
"I don't... understand." Light sat on bed, holding his head in his hands. "Why... Why..."
"because he's a selfish Prick." Hikaru scoff and hugged his big brother. "Nii-chan, you don't have to worry about him! You're amazing just being you! If dad can't see that then screw him!"
"Hikaru!" Light looked at his brother, shocked. "You-"
"No! Light Nii chan! You don't have to prove yourself to anyone!" Hikaru looked him strait in the eyes. "You still have me, and I'll never give you up. No matter what, because I love you and that should be all that matters!"
"Karu..." Light hugged his little brother. "I love you too."
He didn't know how much this will change the future, but he hopped that Light will no longer see people as someone to manipulate and use. Like what their dear 'father' taught them.
He'd protect him and teach him... he- no they didn't need him. They'd thrive without him.
...
It wasn't until their 6 birthdays did, they have more freedom to roam. Hikaru Promptly got both him and light a secret spot, thanks to the help of the creatures of the city. The small area perfect for the pair, and completely out of view and nearly impossible to find.
Light already long knew of his engineering genius, he'd even received his own nasoid pen. Only he needs a quick needle prick of Add's power in order to generate EL power in his body. he was able to control the pen nasoid after a few months of practice.
They soon began their own plan, well light mostly made it. He had no idea how to effectively plan for the future.
"So, we have to keep everything secret, but also earn money from it..." Hikaru pursed his lips.
"Yea, like competitions and stuff. Mom can help us set up a bank account, and dad will just be happy that we are already having saving skills or whatever." Light sat down on the soft cushion, pulling out a small notebook with a spaceship on it. "I've scouted out 3 compitions you can enter and 4 for me during this month. If we both enter first place for all of them, we'd earn a total of 105,000 yen. if that doesn't work out then the least, we'd earn with our skills would be 87,000 yen."
"Whow, that's a lot..." Hikaru took a deep breath. "How do we keep this from dad?"
"We don't need too." Light proudly puffed his chest. "The money we earned will be transferred into our account. So, you think the upright chief of police will knowingly steal from his children?"
"Hopefully no." Hikaru chipped in. "But if we earn a ton, he might get thoughts, no?"
"Of course, however that's why I chose this bank." He gave light a business card. "This bank doesn't transfer to mom and dad's bank. It also has a digital payment option; dad won't pay attention to our money achievements if he can't see it."
"Ohh! but what about mom? If she sets it up, then she can look at it..." Hikaru asked.
"Dose mom ever look at the balance? Dad's the one that runs the finance." Light corrected.
"Oh! But what if she reports to dad?" He asked.
"She will, that is if we don't put the trophy on a pedestal." Light smirked. "All we have to do is put the trophy on a higher level than the money and she naturally won't talk about the money. Plus, mom knowns dad likes results more than money."
"OOoH!" it was good to have a genius brother, he didn't have to think of anything, and his brother will be able to plan it all for him. "Looks like we got to work hard! We'll be able to open our own agency soon enough!"
"First, we have to get away from that study hell of a home." Light grumbled.
"Hey! No bad words." light jumped and gave his kid brother a light pat.
"Sorry Aru- chan!"
...
It took only 2 days to get the bank account, and they both managed to perfectly work the competitions. Due to the competitions Hikaru was scouted for an early engineer's course, of course that's what his father made him accept.
Light also said that it was a good chance to see the current level of Enginuity for those his age, and there were more competitions within the study group.
Thanks to that, they couldn't spend as much time in the secret base. Hence their engineering project ended up slowing down significantly. It took the whole month for him to make 2 small square nasoids.
The little nasoids had more of an information gathering function then the pen, it turned into a holographic computer with a strong processing system. Said processing system made passing by security significantly easier.
With the Nasoid AI, they didn't even have to breech the security.
Light still marveled at the advanced technology his little brother could make. It even made him feel inferior, but Hikaru made sure he threw those feelings in the trash by showing how much he relied on him.
They were a team; nothing should break that.
And he sure as hell wasn't going to let light get the death note, no matter how much he wished to see L... Speaking of L should still be in school right now, right? What an interesting thought.
